I just saw the first episode and although it's already pretty late I'm tempted to watch the next now! I liked the theories in it and the show in general, not too sure about all the birds yet though! Which episode are you on?
Bedlam is set in an asylum that has been turned into apartments. It's a mystery surrounding the asylums past with each episode dealing with hauntings and revealing a bit more information about what used to go on there! I liked season 1 but I love season 2 so far. The first episode actually made me scream haha, but I am a big scaredy cat!
Well I was about to hunt down the Bill Hicks clip where he says: "Well, well . . . we got ourselves a reader!" But then I saw your post about The Fades. It looks good! Do you know where I might be able to watch it?
I know right? He had a great response to it! And absolutely. The same story is being written all the time, it's the writer's style that makes it stand out from all the rest. Amongst a number of other things, like what society is feeling or looking for as a whole at the time!
It can't have hurt Battle Royale too badly either, since its popularity probably increased when people wanted to find out what all the fuss was about. =P
Sorry for double message, HDC told me off for the last one being too long! =[
I had to have another look but I think it was this bit from the Battle Royale wiki:
"While Collins maintains that she "had never heard of that book until her book was turned in", Susan Dominus of The New York Times reports that "the parallels are striking enough that Collins's work has been savaged on the blogosphere as a baldfaced ripoff," but argued that "there are enough possible sources for the plot line that the two authors might well have hit on the same basic setup independently."[22] The general consensus in the time since has been one of amicable controversy, especially since the release of the The Hunger Games film adaptation. Battle Royale author Takami said he appreciated fans "standing up" for his book, but stated that he thinks "every novel has something to offer," and that if "readers find value in either book, that's all an author can ask for."[23]"
Hey! In respect to not side tracking the thread, I decided to reply to you here. I hope you don't mind.
I agree what you have said. I just found it difficult to believe what I was reading when I first heard of the Hunger Games and the authors denial of knowing Battle Royale. But, I actually agree with what was written on Wikipedia about it!
