Detectives hunting the killer of British skydiver Stephen Hilder have spoken to officers in America who investigated a similar incident.
Mr Hilder, 20, died after both his main parachute and the reserve were deliberately cut before he jumped above Hibaldstow Airfield in Lincolnshire on July 4.
The American victim, who had borrowed a sabotaged pack, suffered multiple fractures during a skydiving exercise on February 29, 1996, when his main chute failed to open and his reserve did not properly deploy. The saboteur was never caught.
