My local Hollywood Video (video rental store) just started a new thing called "MVP" or "Movie Value Pass". The first three months is only $9.99 a month and after that it's only $14.99 a month. You can prepay for 90 days or you can have them automatically take it from a credit card each month.
This lets you rent any of the older titles and most of the new releases for free. The only catch is that you can only rent three at a time for free. Then after you return them you can pick up 3 more. The rentals are for five days. I think this is an awesome deal. My local Hollywood Video has a huge selection of older horror on vhs and a pretty good amount on dvd.
I can't wait to get started....i'll be a video renting freak!!! :D

cool how large is the horror section? i know the one at the video store here is small as hell. and they have the movies all over the store instead of in one area i think thats how it should be done. are rental deal here isnt that bad either because its so damn cheap. i have been renting stuff there for so long ive watched most of the videos and the place is big

Their horror dvd section is not that big but their horror vhs is quite large. They have about, I'd say 6 of the cases full of horror vhs, stacked side by side (not facing out).
They have a whole lot of stuff I haven't seen, so it will be quite awhile before I've worked my way through it all.

Yeah, I haven't seen Ichi yet but I plan on it. I almost bought it once at Best Buy but they only had the R rated version, so I decided to wait.

Proof the Video Renting industry isnt long for this world....with things like Net-flix popping up.....I think we are gonna see alot less revenue hitting these Blockbusters and what not....
I download everything illegally....its the only way to rent/pirate...;)

We have the same thing except we can only rent 2 movies at a time. I dont have it because my brothers co-worker has a crush on me and gives me all my movies free now....
anyway I wish Limewire wasnt complete shit. What do you guys use to download movies?
edit: 1800 posts. only 200 more till Arioch freaks out about my thread about 2000!

You shouldn't be downloading movies from the Internet. I'm a filmmaker, and I make my living by making films. How would you like it, if someone stole your hard work?

That works as long as the VHS is widescreen and/or you prefur fullscreen:o and picture quality isn't a big issue....
I was thinking about getting a DVD burner to try burning downloaded dvd's to real dvd's but im worried about compatibility issues with my looser dvd player...

Just to let you know HC, I'd never download one of your movies. I'd pay full price.

Well, im a musician and i pirate songs off the internet all the time....There are many bands adapting and using the internet to spread their music freely through mp3's......it can completely work FOR the artist, in both cases....
We, as the entertainment industry, just have to find ways to use this medium to our advantage and not continuously get owned by the new technology and just bitch about it....JMHO...

I love Drama too. Only like 3 horror movies are in my top 20, the rest are dramas. I like both genres equally, but in different ways.

I'd classify Reservoir Dogs as action. It's too...I guess comedic isn't the right word...but it's not dramatic enough for drama.

Tarantino films are hard to put in a genre but I would say there actions.
But those that mean Donnie Darko or Edward Scissorhands could be considered drama?
