I guess what we should do is make a thread entitled "all about Freddyfan" and pin it at the top of this forum so every new person that comes here doesn't have to ask they can just read it...

Yes we do, that way we can at least get each others opinions before we do anything...And also me and BR talked about the Freddykrueger incident several times before he was finally banned, he was posting blatant racist material,and I even gave him a few times to redeem himself, but he went about doing the same shit, and I still took some heat because I banned him....

I like our current moderators. I think they're fair. and they make good calls. I've not seen long page after page flame fests. Topics that are silly and posted deliberately to antagonize folks are deleted. Horror.com is cleaning up.

I have a bit of a history.. I was just Banned from a site because a MOD pulled some shit, Blamed it on another MOD and I took GREAT OFFENSE At it. In my view, They wanted the problem To go away. I just wanted the MOD to say " Sorry" In the General forum...He did start the shit afterall.I Would not let it go... Right is right and Wrong is Wrong.... I will have NO Prob Admitting when I screw up....As a result. I was Banned.

I hope this place is better.... So far, I think it is.

i would just like to say this,i have been a member since about oct 2003, under one name or another, infact, under the name billbundix i was a small part of the freddyfan incident, although i just warned him to watch what he was saying. i saw what happened after the incident, and it wasnt too nice. it was in fact the reason i changed names a couple of times. in some ways i think we need to put it behind us, just let it go. and yet i think what darthvonpokemon says is true. it should stand as a warning to us all. we should not pretend it did not happen. but i do not know the best way to handle it. but one thing is for certain, we have good moderators, and im not sucking up, because i wouldnt waste the time to type this if i was, just look at my post number, i try not post frivilously, but i do truly appreciate your work. i havent been flamed in a long time. thank you.

freedom of speech, right? old members, new... we all have our preferences. some of us are fine with certain issues while some arent. i personally would love to see all the 'thank you' and 'goodbye' threads go, but just the sheer fact that they annoy me (and others, so ive read) is not reason to delete/lock them. the same goes with freddy fan.

while it does bring pain among some of you (for what reasons, im not sure, perhaps this site means a lot more to some of u than it does to others), it is something that happened here. whether once a month, or once a year, it WILL be brought up again. whether out of curiosity or with bitterness, SOMEONE will bring it up and most likely ask a question about it

we have always been free to talk abou what we want here. which is exactly why majority of 'general forum' is NON horror related. the forum is alive so something must be going right..

the second the freddyfan thread was locked, we were being dictated to about what we can and cannot speak about. the thread did not even have a CHANCE to get ugly, and if it had, then perhaps the situation would be different.

THAT is the issue. this was not an argument as to the good/bad/ugly of freddy fan, we will all have our separate opinions on that. i really d ont givashit about that, i personally see it as a good thing since even though idiots came on blaming you guys, fact is, you guys SAVED him as well as others. i tihnk that outweighs any "yuo guys put him up to this. its all because of horror movies" etc that any strangers who didnt even bother to research couldve told any of you

so i guess we are to assume that we cannot talk about 1) threatening the president 2) freddy fan. i can only wonder what else will be added onto that list....

and to clarify again, YES i do think the mods do a good job. there is a big difference between sayin 'clinton was a bad president' and 'clinton made some mistakes.' other than the freedom of speech issue, the only mistakes ive seen were deleting threads and banning wrong people, which were most likely accidents. which could be easily remedied simply by being more careful....

i personally never was one for the sticky. while FF was an important event, i dont tihnk it warrants its very own announcement. I am all for answering someones questions though, and if they want to try some BS about it being our fault then it will be on..
