I think RingU is definitely the best choice of the list you wrote. I really enjoyed Dog Soliders. I think 28 days later was a better movie. (they are both english). Ginger Snaps is definitely worth a look. Have you seen dawn of the dead ? The Hellraiser series are really good, the staple of a good horror diet.

KRUGERKID13, I am puzzled as to how you liked Cabin Fever over 28 Days Later ? It is like comparing Signs to Dawn of the Dead.

I thought both of em were good but in the long run i say Cabin Fever > 28 Days Later.
All that aside i would like to say that i recommend anything and everything. Just rent a bunch of stuff that looks interesting to you.

Rose red was quite decent, not Kings best miniseries/movie, but it's pretty watchable. Ghosts n stuff, prople going crazy, and the biggest little bitch mommas boy u ever seen.

I don't know if you're into Italian Horror, but you should definitely check out the following films:
Zombie (also known as Zombi 2) by Lucio Fulci
and The Beyond...both excellent gorey films.

"We are now up against live hostile targets. So if Little Red Riding Hood should showup with a bazooka and a bad attitude I expect you to to trim the bitch"
more correctly, it is:
"We are now up against live hostile targets. So if Little Red Riding Hood should showup with a bazooka and a bad attitude I expect you to to chin the bitch"
Minor gripe. i agree though, it is a wonderful movie :)

I got Bride of Re-Animator on DVD at Best Buy. Better than the original, IMO.

I thought Zombi was an (italian?) aka for Dawn of the Dead, and Zombi 2 was Zombie Flesh Eaters.
Although in some territories I believe Zombie was used for both Dawn and ZFE.
It gets even more confusing when you start looking at Zombi 3/4/5!

...Dog Soldiers...Awesome movie!
I think DOG SOLDIERS is better appreciated in the USA, where the novelty value of variable British accents (and indeed of a British horror film) helps this one stand out from the crowd.
Hats off to Neil Marshall for keeping it all non-CGI, but the film was still disappointing as it did not need to progress from its own knowing-ness about werewolf movies as long as the snappy dialogue was there to keep the multiplex crowd in on the joke (and in doing so extinguish the pure terror monsters like these should evoke).
A fun movie, but I'd swap all this intestine-spilling and gut-glueing for the jarring peep-show scene in THE HOWLING or the terrifically eerie stalking-through-the-tube-station in AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON any day.

You could not buy 'SALEM'S LOT, but you'd be missing out on a very scary movie with some great characters, lots of eerie set-pieces, a cracking soundtrack and one of the finest Stephen King adaptations to date.
Skratch skratch! Open the window...

The original Salems Lot with David Soul and not the remake they did this year, or last year, whenever it was.
Children Of The Corn with Linda Hamilton is a good King adaption too, along with Carrie and possibly It (It has a lame ending though and it's kinda long). Oh and Pet Sematary 1 and 2 are both pretty decent.
Some people are partial to The Shining but I can't take Kubrick movies, unless it's Dr Strangelove.
Rosemary's Baby is a def. April Fools Day was also good but worth owning? It's one of those movies I enjoyed the first time but probably won't pick it up again if I owned it. Salem's Lot is an own and I can't give any opinions on the others. Havn't seen 'em.

Personally, I love Poltergeist.
I would not call it a horror - but maybe supernatural thriller. Anyway, definately one to watch\buy in my opinion.
