Congrats on the big day, Life changing event I will say that. I held out as long as I could, never wanted to get married, never even thought about it.

Met my lady in Febuary of 1998 and married her May 1 of that year, no big wedding, no family, just the two of us, and witnesses of course. 6 years and 2 kids later was the best thing I have ever done. We are the best of friends which I think is the most important and with the exception of 3 days we havent been apart since we met. Love does strange things to people.

Enough about me, heres wishing you a long and prosperous relationship. Best of luck to you and your lady.

Congrats mate. Your a lucky man. Shes a hunny.

Want to get engaged to my lady friend but i gotta save up for a ring. Just bought a house with her so we're virtually married anyway.

Good luck in the future. Enjoy yourselves.

You know, Vod, I commend you, all of my stuff aside. However, I don't think I'll get married. First of all, I don't think there's a soul out there who would want to put up with my high maintenance crap, and also, I like the idea of living in "sin." It'd piss my family off.

Besides good ordained High Priestesses are hard to find.

Preacher, find out what kind of ring she wants. Bree let me know, and her dream ring was $135, significantly less than the faceted apartment buildings a lot of guys get their women.

this is the ring i got her:

Congrats Vod.

No offense man, but how did you manage to land her? lol...

It's just that I know how big of a geek you are, and frankly, geeks like that don't get chicks like that unless they have lots (LOTS) of money.

No problemo, it took me a while myself.

First off, shge flat out refuses to accept me saying i am a nerd or a geek.... I dont get it...

I can cook.

She thinks im hot

im taller than her :) (she dated a lot of shorter guys)

Im a "nice guy", and she actually wanted me! Not someone "like" me, but me!

Oh yeah, and i have a job. it pays well, but the fact that i am employed was a bonus in itself ;)

It's great you guys are best friends, that is one of the most important things in any relationship, along with honesty. You should also value the other person's opinion, even if you don't agree. When you disagree, and you will, don't say things to hurt one another in the present, because you will regret it, and it will come back to haunt you in the future. I always use the excuse I need to use the bathroom if we are having a disagreement. I go in there and think very hard about how I feel and what I want to say. By the time you come out you can usually smooth things over pretty quick because your over your initial reaction. Then it's time to get it on with the make up sex..!

You have a beautiful lady, and you are a lucky man, congratulations.

Most of our misunderstandings result in her going off until she has vented all of her frustration, me saying my piece when she is done, then either a total make-up, or 15 minutes to a hour of fuming, at which point we start to miss each other and i make her brownies or something.

It works very well, and doesnt happen very often.

Although sometimes, i think she acts pissed just so ill make her some goodies.....;)

Sorry newb.... i'm not sharing. i know, i know, im a selfish prick....:D

Okay, i need a little help... I have wanted to get this for a while, but forgot who made it and what it was called.

Well, i tracked that part down, it is an etching by Jacques Callot called "The Siege of La Rochelle". I have been trying like hell to find a print or poster of it (or even a super high-res image of it) so i can get it framed for Bree as a wedding present.

Why this one? You may ask..

I proposed to her on November 22, 2003, her 22nd birthday. i took her down to Boston, and we went to the MFA (Museum of Fine Arts) which we both love (and since my dad is a Veteran, we got in for free :D)

Anyway, we walked around, and we were getting hot and hungry, and i was getting REALLY nervous. i was going to wait until after lunch to do it, but then i kept thinking about how i wouldnt say ANYTHING during lunchbecause my stomach would be in knots. i also wouldnt have eaten.

So we found a little out of the way section that was sealed off from the rest of the museum because it was practically empty, and it was aircondition and had a nice padded bench. The bench sat right in front of this etching (it is in six pieces). We were resting, and i waited for the l;ast other person to leave, then reached into my pocket, grabbed her hand, put the ring on her finger (the middle one, i was so nervous i put it on the wrong finger:rolleyes: ) and asked her if she would marry me. She started crying, and about 5 minutes later when she calmed down, she said yes :D

We had lunch right after (there is a cafe inside that is made to feel like it is outside right next to the gift shop, it is awsome),then we went to the aquarium (our favorite place in Boston), then went for a ride ina horse drawn carriage. on the way home, we got chicken mcnuggets :D (we are getting the limo to stop at mcdonalsds on the way to the hineymoon for some more :))

As you can guess, there is quite a bit of meaning behind the picture, and i am trying to get a copy of it :)

here is what it looks like:
