View Full Version : U.S ppl help...

So, as it turns out, there's a few U.S products my friend and I want to buy bulk and import.
I wanted some advice on a decent online US store that'll send out stuff. Bulk availability isn't necessary, but what we're after is a few different candy bars, breakfast cereals, and sodas.
Any help or links would be appreciated.

I'll see what I can find for ya.

P.S. What kind of Commie country do you live that doesn't have any Kool-Aid?

A land without Kool-Aid is the saddest thing I can imagine.

I don't know dude. I buy them at the store.

If you know what type you are looking for (ie: Snickers, Butterfinger, etc...) I would recommend you got to Yahoo search, type in 'SNICKERS BULK' (Or whatevr kind of candy you want.) and see what comes up.

Yeah, lots of people in the U.S. drink the Kool-Aid. Ho-ho.

My ex-girlfriend was from the UK and always said the chocolates here were so much sweeter, too. Didn't stop her from eating them constantly. My mum still sends her Lemonheads now that she's returned to UK. As for buying over here, best bet is any of the dollar stores (everything is a dollar, including the bite sized packs of candy bars) or some the shopping club stores that specialize in bulk at warehouse prices (although some require a membership). Give me a shopping list since I frequent them often being a cheap, broke bastard LOL

I'd be happy to give ANYONE a shopping list that feels like actually doing it...
I'm talking about the kinda stuff you guys probably just get at your supermarkets? To name a few of the things I'm talking about, a few that I have seen and/or heard of
*Nutter Butter?
*French Vanilla INSTANT coffee
*reeses cups?
*Babe ruth, ZAGNUT, 5th avenue??
*Hersheys stuff (we get i here, but not a great range at all)
*All kinds of gum
*like...sodas? In particular, I have friend that wants some "faygo", little icp freak...
*And again...the kool-aide...I LOVED the one I tried, like tropical punch....

So, there's more or less exactly the kinda stuff I'm after..., any more suggestions ppl? Keep 'em coming.
Thanks for all the help so far, all of you.

OMG...if you get the hersheys stuff, you should definitely get the treasures toffe and almond...drool...
snickers
starbursts
twix
skittles (reg and sour)
gummie bears

what kind of candies do you have there?

cheebacheeba
08-29-2004, 09:22 PM
We have mars and snickers bars too, twix, starburst AND quite a few types of gummi's, it's just the more interesting stuff that we don't really get here. Cereals in particular.
Just pretty average stuff...I SUPPOSE we have a pretty decent chocolate called cadbury, as far as chocolate goes...your stuff is just different styled, tastes completely different.
So hit me up, whats the best place for all the junk I mentioned?

OH YEAH, and root beer, we don't get root beer...or "40's"

mayoisthedevil
08-29-2004, 09:51 PM
if you really want the different stuff, you should look at the website i said earlier. (foodtv.com) they have the common stuff and the really old stuff that's a little harder to find in stores. look at the shows The Best Of and Unwrapped, Unwrapped probly moreso than The Best Of. Hope that helps :)

no root beer or kool aide...i'm sorry

Oh!! do you have the accent? ohh my...i love that accent...drool...Russel Crowe...Hugh Jackman...

darthvonpokemon
08-29-2004, 11:06 PM
Screw getting the website mark-up prices, Cheeba. You cover the cost and shipping and I will be more than happy to pick them up for you.
CK
PS Snickers is not the same here either. The ex has scientifically proven that all junk food is not the same LOL. Seriously, PM me a shopping list and I actually will pick them up. I'm a junk foodaholic myself so I wouldn't be going out of my way.

cheebacheeba
08-29-2004, 11:24 PM
Mayo, I don't have the russel crowe kind of accent, I have the more Hugh Jackman kind of accent, if ever you've heard him on an interview...uh...yeah.
Unfortunately, while I am finding the website you referred to me quite interesting (can you actually watch the shows online???), I am having trouble navigating to a specific point that just gives me a big old list of candy with pictures. Do you know if it's possible to come across one of those on there? I'm not so good with the navigation bit...thankyou...

Darth, that would be awesome beyond awesome if you could do that for me...I'd be happy to (as I have organised with someone else good enough to send over some things) send you over, yknow, some vegemite, beer and/or australian wine (which we do pretty damn well)....and, uh, boomerangs? Youd probably dig that cadbury chocolate too, have you seen it? Anyway, that's all I can think of, but no doubt there's more.

ok then..I shall go cruise the sites.

Cheeba...We have all of the Cadbury's chocolates, too...Caramello...The Cadbury Easter Eggs at Easter, but those are kinda gross except for the ones that are filled with chocolate fudge...

The most expensive chocolates that we have here are Godiva Chocolates...They have a website...I'd say that's available everywhere...I think it's supposed to be the best in the world or something...I used to buy them for birthday presents and stuff...

bloodrayne
08-30-2004, 01:04 AM
Forgot to add...

Personally...I don't think the Godiva Chocolates are any better than Hershey's...Perhaps I'm too unrefined to appreciate it:rolleyes: ...lol

So you have cadbury huh? How does it measure up?

I'm not specifically after anything of GOOD quality, just junk...
is there like a u.s supermarket that has a decent online catalougue?

Stingy Jack
08-30-2004, 03:21 AM
I would try walmart.com. Seriously. I don't know if they ship internationally, but that's where I buy all my groceries.

Stingy Jack
08-30-2004, 03:25 AM
Well, that's not a good idea after all. They don't have groceries on their site. I also checked out www.a-u-l.com, but they don't ship internationally. I'll keep looking for ya.

It's all good, I got darth reprazentin' over there for me, said he'd send the shit along...
You know, this is fucked, Ive been searching for ages, and I simply cannot find a big online grocery place that shows pics and or descriptions of candy and/or drinks!!!

I shall look at this new site now, thanks Jack...

cheebacheeba
08-30-2004, 04:03 AM
OK, jack, your site has thus far been the closest to what i'm looking for.
So yeah, along those lines. They don't have to export.

Site needs
LOTS OF
*candy
*chocolate
*drinks (sodas)
*pictures and/or descriptions of the above

That's all....is there such a site out there

is there like a u.s supermarket that has a decent online catalougue? Hmm...Well...The Cadbury seems a bit 'softer' than the others...Maybe it's creamier or has more milk in it, or something...I like the Hershey and Nestle Chocolates better...We also have Willy Wonka chocolate bars and candies, like Gobstopper jaw breakers, etc. but, I really don't care for the Willy Wonka chocolate at all...I'm sure that you also have Toblerone...I think it's really popular in the UK, I could be wrong...I really don't care for that too much either...And candy from Mexico is just nasty...

I tried to find stores that would ship to Australia, I figured it wouldn't do you any good if they only shipped in the U.S.(like all of the ones that I've checked, so far)...I'm still looking...

It's all good rayne, the search is OVER....since I don't need an importer store with all you kickass motherfuckers up in here offering to send me stuff, I'm just using this as a shopping list, but hey, works for me

- The shiznizzle-bam-biznitch!!!

ALSO, just out of interest, we used to have a candy coated chocolate thingy like m &m's over here called "vice versas", they may have been from nestle, they were really good, but they got taken off the market here...do u guys still have em?

Hmm...I haven't heard of the 'Vise Versa' thing...But, our M&Ms have either peanuts, almonds, peanut butter, crispy stuff, or just plain chocolate in them...Was it something like that?

cheebacheeba
08-30-2004, 05:29 AM
we have plain m&ms, peanut, and crispy only.
For some reason, you people are OBSESSED with peanut butter flavoured stuff...we're not that big on it over here, I mean, hey I like it...

Vice Versas were probably just a little larger that your almond m&ms, but round. There were two types in the pack, there were the white chocolate candy coated chocolate ones, and the chocolate candy coated white chocolate ones.
They rocked...

Mate, where are you from??? Where do you live now???

Cadburys isn't just decent, its a million times better than the shit they dish out in the US. I spent all my youth lookin forward to tryin Hersheys chocolates cos i'd seen them in the movies and shit. Finally went to the states in 2001. Spent a shit load on hersheys. Tried it and it tasted of puke. For real.....all i could taste was a really acidy pukey taste.

Though i ought to have another go last year and it still tasted of puke. Apart from the little gold drops...they were ok.

And cool aid......how much fuckin sugar do ya want in each mouthful???

I live in Sydney, AUS Preacher.
Sorry, but my overall chocolate enthusiasm isn't that great. It's probably one of the better ones here, but unless it is the pay by the gram imported swiss stuff I PREFER to buy, it just doesn't go beyond "average" for me.
True I was a little dissapointed in some of the U.S chocolate, but they're also decent in my book, just different. U.S chocolate tends to be a little richer/sweeter, there's more cocoa content in it also. Cadbury is milk chocolate, milder and cremier by far, which would explain the acidy taste of hersheys by comparison. I liked it myself, but you gotta moderate.
The little gold drops being kisses? I prefer those to the standard bar myself, but I mainly get the cookies n cream one...although I don't buy it much, there's no point, the one's we have here are manufactured here now anyway.
The one I was MOSTLY dissapointed by was Wonka chocolate.

I agree on the kool aide thing, I have only ever had a small sachet of (I think) this red tropical flavour. I remember making it to the suggested consistancy, and almost had a seizure drinking it. However, when I watered it down a little, I really liked it. So yeah, it still makes my list.

I'm also looking at other international products. There are some pretty interesting gum flavours on the asian market...

So can anyone who's tried it tell me what this Faygo shit actually tastes like? I have someone begging me to buy a box of the peach variety.

Kool-aid comes in small packets you mix with sugar and water to make, well, Kool-aid.
And the Dollar Store here has Faygo in large 3 liter bottles. I usually get the Red myself.
