View Full Version : Hollywood does it again...

Hollywood tends to sometimes make good horror, once every decade.
but most are just money makers.
I don't like how they are coming out with remakes.
They are ruining what was classic horror.
Like TCSM.
In the original, they killed for food, and leatherface didn't even HAVE a skin disorder.
And the original was the one that could make you look over your shoulder, the new one was just a movie to me.
(Although I like how it was longer.)
and Dawn of the Dead.
I liked the remake, but they went WAY off with that one.
WAY OFF.
what is with the zombies running?
Of course I shouldn't complain, it actually worked for the movie unlike House of the dead, which was a terrible movie.
and rob Zombie.
He is a cool guy, alot of his music is great.
And it is cool that he wanted to make a horror movie.
But he SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT OUT FIRST.
Because the whole "music artist going to movies" thing hardly works out.
but anyway the point is hollywood sucks.
For the most part.
I like some of the movies that come from there.
Like .....fight Club....
...hmm...
Some...I cant think right now
anyway skittles

the director that remade godzilla likes the whole "world wide epadimic"(sp) thing.
he made ID:4, and the day after tommarow.
And like I said, I don't hate all of hollywoods movies.
Peter Jackson is coming out with the new King Kong.

the tcm remake was damn good
and leatherface had the skin disorder in the original - what do you call making a mask out of human flesh - i call that a skin disorder
the dawn remake was good for an action movie, stunk as a horror flick - wtf is running zombies - stupid thats what - worked in 28 days later cause they weren't dead, alot more belivable - dawn 04 added the running effect in order to pick up the pace of the movie, which was way wrong
house on haunted hill was pretty ok, i liked the vincent price version better - which i though jeffery combs was a bad choice looking way to simliar to price - although quite an unsual spinoff in the plot
much like 13ghosts - original rocks, remake could have been better had a little more thought of background story on the ghosts be added in - although the special features on the dvd do cover this
house of 1000 corpses wasn't all that, i was pissed the first time i saw it and labeled it as just another tcm ripoff - homeage my ass - although there is a level of prue brutality that does encompass most of the movie - mossley does a great preformance and sherri moon is just plain psyhco in it - storyline was a bit drab though
on a lighter note the sequel looks to be a winner
never saw house of the dead - one of those you can tell it sucks donkey wang from the previews type of movie
the mummy was a great action movie, no where near horror though

What does making mask out of flesh have anything to do with skin disorder.
He could just do that to get off, you don't know.
Plus, the movie was based off Ed Gein, a man who wore woman's skin as clothing, and what did leatherface wear in the original mainly?
womans faces.
Of all things, he wanted to be a woman.
And in the original, they NEVER mentioned a skin disorder.
Original-Inbred hillbillys eating people for food.
Remake-Inbred hillbillys killing because their son has a skin disorder.
To me, cannibals are cooler.

After thinking about this I've come to the conclusion that Hollywood has decided to destroy the horror genre once and for all. They just keep making these awfully bad horror films untill noone wants to watch horror anymore and of course these remakes and somebody VS. somebody type of movies serve this purpose very well.
Either this or Hollywood is just full of idiots...

Its just a cycle.People want horror again but soon enough theyll get tired of it and the big budget horror movies will start losing money. Then theyll stop making them for a while, and we will have alot of lower budgeted movies coming out. Then a few of the low budget movies will be big hits and Hollywood will get the fever again.

He could have put salt on the wounds to keep the bleeding down.
To torture him.
the key to torture is keeping the victim alive.
But they did eat them in the remake to, I think.

Yeah, but alot of it came from TCSM, but C.spaldin(sp) was one funny mother fucker.
