I just rented and watched two incredibly abyssmal direct-to-video horror flicks. Good thing I didn't actually have to pay for them.

1) Dark Heaven

2) Blood Reaper

As I watched both of these, I couldn't help but imagine that they were somebody's projects for a college film class. I won't even waste time reviewing them ... but let's just say that Dark Heaven could not POSSIBLY be a horror film, since there is absolutely nothing threatening in the movie at all. And Blood Reaper is such a blatant rip-off of Friday the 13th (and a bad rip-off, I may add) that I'm surprised the producers expected this film to go anywhere at all.

Seriously ... how do we start a petition to send to these people begging them to stop destroying our beloved genre with their shit??

agree.... there's some really terrible stuff that gets sent straight to video.

one I saw not too long ago, was a ripoff of F13th... had a mad guy terrorising some kids at a camp, with a sack on his head, I couldnt sit through the whole thing.... even forgotten the title of it.

Another example of cover art being used to attract a person to rent the movie.

Whenever I purchase or rent one of these horrid things, and complain to my wife about how I wasted my money, she always replies, "so how many films have you written/produced?"
lol, I guess I should have learned by now to not complain to my wife.

What annoys me about these things is that someone saw fit to give these idiots money to make shit, but i havent had shit published yet...

And all the resea4rch i have done into sellign a screenplay seems to say "Get used to the idea that no matter how good your script is, the producers will probably turn it into a lump of gilded shit."
