Some time ago I read I believe that it was in Fangoria maybe Cinescape mag that there was an all horror channel going to be released on Sat. and cable. Since then i havent heard of it. I have called my sat. provider and they no nothing about it, figures since they are brain dead anyways. Has anyone else heard of this??? I would love to see a 24 hour horror channel, with modern and classic movies as well as tv shows like buffy, angel and such.

We already talked about this in another thread and everybody is real excited about this. I can't wait. They are talking with a lot of the horror directors about possible movies and such.

So it will it be featured on a channel like HBO or Showtime, or will it be called something like the "Horror Channel". Probably the latter, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

hell yea. the closest thing to a horror channel right now would either be scifi or the mystery channel on encore. i pray that they will have tales from the crypt. but i bet HBO will be jerks and not let them have it.

Not true. They have HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax horror/suspense channels. You need digital cable or satelite to get those though.

Yes. Finally, a channel that is devoted to horror. I mean horror 24/7. I have comcast digital cable. I have encore, hbo, and cinemax and all of them have one channel that has a lot of horror on. not all the time though. Can't wait for this channel. it sucks that it isn't coming to tv until october 2004. why don't they just make it now. because they want to piss us of like total assholes. Damn bastards.

I could be wrong and i sure as hell hope that I am, but I read somewhere that the films on the Horror Channel would be edited for content, and in order to see the unedited versions you have to purchase payperviews. anybody now more?

It's MONSTERS HD featuring 24-hours of horror films - - all in high definition and 5.1 stereo sound. It launched October 2003 and is part of VOOM, a new satellite service that is the exclusive home of MONSTERS HD. From TEXAS CHAINSAW 1,2,3 to EVIL DEAD to NOTLD and DAWN OF THE DEAD as well as the premiere of GINGER SNAPS 2 in Febrary 2004. MONSTERS HD is the REAL DEAL with REAL MOVIES in HIGH DEFINITION 24 HOURS A DAY. You can watch it now. It is not a phantom channel like the one that is being proposed by others.

A channel like this will last until someone complains..It all fun and games till someone gets hurt..next thing you know someone is blaming the Horror channel for the violent action they par took in.. But other then that I will be a viewer..no doubt in my mind... We all must remember alot of people out there dont care for Horror movies and Im sure they will complain or edit the flicks so damn much we see the open credits then a couple scenes then the closing credits...short fast Horror flick..I WILL BE SO PISSED IF IT COMES TO THAT!!!

MONSTERS HD shows horror movies UNCUT 24 HOURS A DAY. Get it now on VOOM satellite available at SEARS. Don't be fooled by phantom startups that have yet to launch.

Ye of little faith. You don't perchance work for "Voom satellite available at SEARS" do you?
I think this channel will be a godsend if done correctly.

Yes. And I do hope all horror fans will enjoy the only true horror channel that shows uncut and commercial freem movies. As a fan of the genre, I agree with the comments that folks are making here in regards to doing it right.

I know a lot of people would love it. I am pretty sure that someone would try to blame the channel though. It's like saying that Playboy made you go out and rape someone because of the sexual content. (Which is more real than horror films by the way.) People are extreme sometimes. It's ridiculous.

Seems there's a lack of canadians on this board.
We had a 24/7 Horror Channel for over 2 years now.
It's called "SCREAM".
And it rocks!!!Lots of Full Moon Stuff on it!!!
Plus we have The Drive-In Channel and Space Channel which show all uncut Horror films.
Not to mention we have "Shadow Lane" which shows UNCUT and commercial free movies , they show a lot of direct to video and the current new releases as well as classics.THE THING IS ON RIGHT NOW.
They even air TV mini series like IT and The Beast without commercials.
Good stuff.

Yeah, you Canadians are lucky.
You didn't happen to catch the new episode of South Park where Saddam was the Prime Minister did you?

Pretty funny. They used Wizard of Oz to tell their story. It was pretty funny when they were in Canada and crossed over into French-Canada.

It's not Comcast's fault. I work for a different cable company. We don't carry Sci-Fi anymore either. They jacked their rates way up (Sci-Fi) and cable companies would have to raise their monthly rates as much as $4 to accomadate for this single channel.

here's a basic answer to a question i had about whether or not the movies shown on the Horror Channel would be edited for content or would be shown commerical free...i got it off the official website..
Q. Will the Horror Channel show movies edited or cut?
A. All films will be presented unedited and uncut. And whenever possible in the letterbox format.
there you have it, straight from the vampire's bite.
