Not just aquaintences, but real friends.

I picked 3-5, which is probably being a bit generous. I have very little use for most other humans.

I don't like having too many friends..........they get demanding! LOL!
I have only a couple of people who I consider my real friends...............countless aquaintances!

I'm not exactly the easiest person in the world to get along with. I'm lazy to the point of absurdity. I don't clean my room, my car and I go weeks without showering. The only people I find myself compelled to be friends with are fellow computer nerds in real life and pretty much anyone online because they only see a projected image of me (think "residual self image" from The Matrix). People online see the edited, well articulated version of me. The reality is much more dull and bumbling. I have a hard time with talking because I get embarrassed so easily. I am extremely shy IRL, while online... well, I can be a bit of a loudmouth, probably because I just feel much more comfortable on a place like this.

I have a very tight group of friends from high school that I still try to hang out with as much as possible, unfortunately it's not as often as I would like, but we are still pretty tight nonetheless.
My fiance's friends are now a part of my circle of friends too, so I picked 10-20. Hundreds of acquantances (I sell real estate, so I am constantly staying in touch with and meeting new people, in an attempt to get their business when they decide to sell their house.), but only about 15 real good friends.

I know this sounds cliche' but my wife is my best friend, and I have 2 other close friends that I know that if I killed someone they would help me hide the body and cover it up. Now you know those are close friends.

Hmmm ... how do you judge a real friend? I don't think I would want to be friends with someone who would help me cover up a murder ... so that doesn't count.
Here's a short list on how I determine who is a true friend:
1. He helps me move without expecting payment.
2. I feel comfortable borrowing money from him.
3. We can be in the presence of each other for long periods of time without feeling the need to say anything.
4. He'll drop everything (to a reasonable degree) to rush to my aid if I'm in a tight spot.
So, from this list, I have ....... 1. Not counting my wife. Everyone else finds me disagreeable nowadays. I used to be pretty popular in high school ... but, too many people have succumbed to that "adult comformity" thing that they don't feel comfortable around me for very long. At least not on anything deeper than a superficial level. Don't get me wrong, I'm the life of our parties, and everyone thinks they want to be great friends with me when we first meet ... but either they get on my nerves too badly, or they can't stand my constant bitching about how the world and people in general are so fucked up. I drive away many potential friends that way. Thankfully, my 1 friend enjoys bitching just as much as I do, and joins right in when I get in one of my "moods"! But I can be tiresome to people, that's for sure. Which is okay. I like to be alone most of the time, anyway. :D

It said real life friends though...I just have a few long distance friends that I've met and know in person. I lose basically all of my "friends" eventually.

My requirements as well. I lied, actually, I do have one real friend, but I see him so little that we may as well not know each other any more.
LOL, it sounds like we'd have a lot to talk about together IRL. I don't speak of it that much IRL, but I feel the same way about the world and people.
I'm a pretty solitary guy as well.

2-3. I agree with Stingy Jack. Sometimes i don't talk to my friends for months, but we're still really close friends. It's nice to be with someone and not have to think about filling empty space.
