I think too many ? went unanswered into the dark abandoned water which is cleverly called crystal lake. so therefore there must be a sequel to follow the short ending.i think jason should win but freddy has the mouth that could intimidate any undead creature.

Of course! They can't end a movie like that unless they expect a sequel. Besides, the movie made money=sequel. I think in this one they should finally kill Jason off. At least for a few years. I mean, damn. They made to many Friday the 13th's. Of course Freddy would win. Jason isn't nothing but a momma's boy. A regular idiot. He's slow, he's stupid, and he aint got any style. Now Freddy on the other hand has the intelligence, and cleaverness, and not to mention that wicked sense of humor.

I picture the two like this:
Freddy is Dr. Frankenstein and Jason is his monster. Freddy is the brains and Jason is just the brainless monster. Freddy can get Jason to do just about anything. Thats because Freddy is smart; he knows what to do to get Jason to obey. Though I do feel pity for Jason Voorhees. Poor kid drowned in the lake. Made fun of. Laughed at. Called names. The poor kid. But he got his revenge. Sweet, sweet revenge. Well actually it was his mother who got revenge for Jason's death. Jason just kills everyone who visits Camp Crystal Lake.

But Freddy's power comes from fear right?

I have doubts as to whether or not Jason would actually fear anyone. Like you said he's a slow and simple minded killing machine. I doubt he would be able to grasp the fact that Freddy's someone he should be afraid of. Jason with no fear = Freddy with no power.

There will 100% for sure be a sequel. It made money and they left it intentionally open-ended. There's no way they wouldn't make a sequel... Now whether or not the sequel will be any good is open for debate...

Well it does come from fear, but does that fear have to come from the one he's attacking? Think of Wes Cravens New Nightmare, that girl (Dillon's Babysitter) wasn't scared of Freddy yet she was killed. Because Freddy got the power from the fear of Dillon. Dillon's fear gave him power so he could kill the girl. See? So if Freddy has power from a teenagers fear, would he not be able to attack Jason? And just a note, Freddy can't die in the dream world. Freddy can never really 'die'. When he does 'die' he just looses all the power the souls of his children gave him. He still 'lives' though.

Theres my concepts.

Besides, can you imagen how dumb that would look? I mean in the older videos the chainsaw hand looked... alright. But todays movies look so real. It would look kinda stupid.

Will there be a sequal? Yes
Will it be good? Probably not
Will Ash be in it? Ehh, probably not...atleast if there is ANY GOD AT ALL....he wont be...
Will Ash being in the movie make it good? Probably not...

Ash wont be in it, the rights to his character wont be handed over.

Wern't the rights already purchased by New line?

If so you can bet there will be either way

The Idiots guide to being a rich and famous holleywood producer and movie exec.

Take an original idea

make what...at least 10 copies of that idea.

Take same original idea alter it a bit, make another 10 copies of that idea.

Once you finally think you have exhausted the same story lines and ideas so that you can't possibly make ANY more money off it, merge ideas.

proceed to copy new idea.

Think it can't be done ? Well take a look....seen any NEW ideas recently?

Bruce Campbell owns the rights to the character of Ash? That doesn't sound right to me. I'm pretty sure the rights are the property of The Evil Dead's production company.

Unit 03: It is practically impossible to come up with a completely new, unique, never-done-before idea. There are only so many basic story lines, and they have all been done before. The challenge (and interest) for story writers today is to provide variations of these story lines. And this goes for all storytelling. Not just movies.

As for there being a sequel to Freddy vs. Jason --- dammit, I hope not. It's really pointless actually. Neither one of them can die, obviously, so even the first one was boring as hell. Of course, they may actually do three of these things all together: the first one, Jason wins; the second one, Freddy wins; the third one, they both become banished completely from this world for good by some cop-out plot device like "magic". Of course, if they can come back from hell, then fuck it. What is a group of mere mortals going to do against a pair of yahoos that Satan himself can't contain? No, both of these characters need to be put to rest the only way they can be. By not writing stories about them any-fucking-more.

FvJ was a horrible movie. You couldn't pay me to watch a sequel.

This was one of the most anticipated movies of all time and they fucked it up. Congratulations.

It never had a chance. i will be surprised if AvP doesnt suck. It has a good writer director ( i like resident evil quite a bit), but with a pg-13 rating for a match-up between 2 of the greatest r-rated monsters ever? nope.

It wiould be like "Terminator vs Robocop", pg-13. blech.

ShankS

agree, AvP needs to be 18/R, so much could be added.

Vodstok

Exactly. How can you have a chestburster scene in a pg-13 movie?

ShankS

yeah,

as said before, they are going all out for the mass markets with this production...... give it a pg rating = pack them cinemas to the brim.

Mediocrity is the result. Middle of the road, boring movies. They further up the profit margin by hiring no-name no-talent actors to fill in every part....

Sorry, I'm edgy this morning.

Im not entirly sure of the URL, but check Mr. Campbell's website. At the very least, he CLAIMS to own the rights.....and weather he does or not, HE refuses to be in it, so if they do use Ash without him...............It would be even worse then if they used Ash with him. Ash doesnt fit. At all.
