I agree. Although Halloween was not the first, it was by far the most influential. Not nearly as much is credited to Bay of Blood, as is to Halloween.

Apparently no one has heard of "Ten Little Indians". [ well....I know zwoti has ] Its based on an Agatha Christie novel about a group of 10 people summond to this estate and are killed off one by one. It may not qualify as a "slasher" movie but the premise is the same. sorta.......without the gore of course.....I mean it was 1965........OH FORGET IT......fucking kids today.

LFBO
did i type that out loud, classic
anywho, i do care, otherwise i wouldn't have made this thread, im gonna seek out that movie and book
It is really more of a suspense movie. I don't think it would fall into the "slasher" genre.

WTF, MM tell that little pussy to grow a set of nuts and quit being a little whiny ass bitch.....
Hell I was watching slasher flicks by the time I was fucking 5 years old...Thank god I had a cool ass dad who was into horror flicks also...I guess that's why I'm so warped and demented today...
Ok on the early slasher deal...two other early slashers to list:
Black Christmas : this one was really influential on Friday The 13th...
Hell Night : another suprisingly good slasher from 1981...

i've never considered agatha christie films to be horror....though this story was the basis for a classic mario bava film "five dolls for an august moon"
