Hi guys
Does anyone here have any phobias??? Just wanted to know cos the films that particularly freak me out are films bout my two worst phobias:
- CLOWNS and BEING TRAPPED IN COFFINS AN STUFF
These sort of films shit me up but thats whats good about them. Car sleap for weeks afterwards though.
My best mate (sick bastard) bought me a birthday present of a clown 'living dead doll'. Apparently its a series over in the US. Cant even pick the damn thing up incase it bursts out of its coffin.
Got him back though. Borrowed a life size Chucky doll from another mate and put it in his bed. Shouldn't fuck with a man of the cloth.

At first i thought you were saying you were afraid of clowns being stuck in coffins. i was going to give you a big pat onthe back for originality :)
I have a severe fear of heights. And here's the weird one:
Zombies. I have nightmare (once or twice a year) that i am stuck in a dDawn of the Dead situation....

Nah my clown phobia is the worst.
All started when i was a kid and my sister had an old fasioned clown puppet with like a porcelain head. She kept leavin it at the top of the stairs and i had to sprint past it every time i needed to take a leak.
Used to have nightmares where one of those bastrd clowns was pinning me down to the bed and tickling me and fuckin laughin his head off. Used to wake up an still feel like i was being tickled.
Do ya know those things they have at the coast - like laughin policemen or clowns where you put money in just to watch a fuckin evil puppet laugh at you - wont go near one of those.
Oh yeah - another phobia - bein in the sea where you cant see the bottom -which is basically anywhere on the british coast. Gettin over my phobia of the sea. Went to turkey an did scuba divin - nice clear water. Was shittin it at the start - then calmed down - we ended up sittin on the bottom about 30ft down and i was trying not to think about the fact that if anythin did come rushin at me - Jaws for instance, i'd be a gonna. But you gotta face your fears in life sometimes - you feel much better about yourself afterwards.

I love the sea, but this bugs the shit out of me too. I have done a lot of studying about the deep sea, and sitting there, KNOWING that the bottom is a mile or two down, KNOWING that there are viperfish, sharks, giant squid, sunken ships, dead bodioes and a million other things gets overwhelming.
Jaws doesnt help, though.

fear large spiders and dont like to be enclosed in too much, like in elevators... it's not so much a phobia, I just dont like being in close proximity with people I dont know.... unless it's a nice female.

Bugs. I scream like a little girl if a bug crawls on me, unless it's a spider. Spiders are ok by me.

Very severe unreasonable fear of heights. I can barely look out 3rd story windows without hyperventilating.

Right there with you, sister. I had to do framing one summer and i hated it. i was 15 feet off the ground and TERRIFIED. Of course the other guys wcouldnt understand why i broke out in a cold sweat when i got near the edge...
Oddly enough, being in an airplane doesnt scare me. it has to be heights ON something with me. if i am flying, im cool.

I don't have a fear of heights, but I have a fear of flying. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I don't trust airplane mechanics to do their job to the highest degree possible, and the fact that I would be completely helpless if anything went wrong.
I also have a fear of bees, wasps, hornets, or any other stinging insect. Wasps in particular, because they'll sting the shit out of you just for looking at them funny. Bastards!

And.. Wasps arent going to die after they sting you. Same with Bumble-bees. Only honey bees do that.
Rest easy :)

did you know that modern aeroplanes are glued together..... the wings are held on to the fuesalage with incredibly stong glue that forms a bond, which is stronger than the actual plane material.
frightening stuff eh??

I dont think so. i used to work in a wood shop, and glue and "liquid nails" do a much better job of holding things together than nails. Glue and screws would be the strongest thing around.
At least they dont use tape :D

American Airlines had two of their planes grounded because of the use of duct tape.

My dad was an Aircraft mechanic while he was in the airforce. When we lived in washington, he was a crew chief for B-52 Gs. They had one that HAD to fly a mission, even though a flock of geese had smashed into it's verticle stabilizer. they patched a basketball sized hole with duct tape and it flew another 10 missions before they were able to properly fix.
Gotta love the military. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it. if it is broke, use duct tape.":)

reminds me of a quote from armageddon
Rockhound: "You know we're sitting on four million pounds of fuel, one nuclear weapon and a thing that has 270,000 moving parts built by the lowest bidder. Makes you feel good, doesn't it?"

Heights. If I swung to high in a swing, my body just lets go of its grip and I went flying out. All fun till you hit the ground.
Spiders. I just hate them.
Eyes. They creep me out. Just the though of aliens big pure black eyes in real life starring at me gives me shivers.
Ghosts. Can't feel safe taking a bath or shower. They may be some sick gay dude ghost watching me. Eww. But if it was a female ghost... hmmm. :D
Water that isn't clean enough to see the bottom of. Who knows what down there ready to get you... [Jaws music starts to play]. That and I'm not good at swimming... I saw, sink to the bottom and run to the shore. Works for me.

Eeeeughh.......EVIL BASTARDS. Makin me sweat thinkin bout it. This reminds me of the movie "Ghosthouse"...A little girl was to be buried with her favorite clown doll, but the mortician took the clown out of the coffin before burial to give it to his little girl...So, the clown goes around killing people for revenge and demanding "Burial", which he keeps saying over and over again in a freaky way

Im the same way! I cant be 30 feet in the air, but I can be 30,000 and enjoying myself.
People always ask why Im so afraid of heights and I cant even explain it. Its not actually the fear of falling, its completely different.

I thought of another one. Outter Space freaks me out. When I went to Disney World and we rode in the big epcot ball ride thing I was freaking out while riding through the outter space parts. Its like, In Outter Space you could fall forever and no one could help you *shiver*

I am EXTREMELY Claustrophobic, and a little Agoraphobic. Also the idea of being blind terrifies me!
I am really scared of big dogs that I don't know, and all bugs except spiders...........because of Charlotte's Webb I guess LOL!

Thanks for the movie suggestion bloodrayne.
Ay seen that one. Is it recent.
Thought of another phobia - fear that my girlfriend will get the telly stuck on channel 44. 24 hours of constant Changing Rooms, Dream Homes, DIY SOS etc etc. Think i would rather be stuck in a coffin with a clown.

For as long as I can remember, I have had the biggest fear of water. In know it sounds weird, but I looked and ther actually is a fear called Hydrophobia. I have been this way all my life. I hate rivers, lakes, oceans, even pools. I don't mind watching rain, but I freak if it touches me. I don't know why, but I figured I would join the rest of you guys.

Welcome. I know you already have 70 posts, but I haven't seen you before.
That sounds like it would be a very hard phobia to deal with. What about showering/bathing? I have almost the same thing, but it's more of an aversion than a phobia. I really hate water. I used to go months without showering because of it, which is why I ask.
