Y.M.C.A
Young man, there's no need to feel down
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground
I said, young man, cause your in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy
Young man, there's a place you can go
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything for men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
You can get yourself clean
You can have a good meal
You can do whatever you feel
Young man, Are you listening to me
I said, young man, what do you want to be
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams
but you've got to know this one thing
No man, does it all by himself
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf
And just go there, to the Y.M.C.A.
I'm sure they can help you today
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything for men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
You can get yourself clean
You can have a good meal
You can do whatever you feel.
Young Man, I was once in your shoes
I said, I was down and out with the blues
I felt, no man cared if I were alive
I felt the whole world was so jive
That's when someone came up to me
And said young man take a walk up the street
There's a place there called the Y.M.C.A.
They can start you back on your way
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
They have everything For men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
Young man, Young man, there's no need to feel down
Young man, Young man, pick yourself off the ground

Just go to the Y.M.C.A.

Okay...For some reason when I'm rocking the baby to sleep...I keep catching myself humming Edelweiss (like just now...wtf?)...And the theme song from the Smurfs...However, the Smurfs theme has plagued me for years...I often get caught humming that one :)
Honestly..I am ALWAYS humming or singing SOMETHING...It' so natural for me, I'm usually unaware that I'm doing it until Dustin points it out...And, many times even I don't have a clue what it is, but he usually figures it out and tells me...There have been many instances where I have caught myself, then asked him "Hey, what is this song?"..or "What is this tune from?"
I think he's gotten used to it because now he just has fun guessing what it is that I'm humming/singing...And many of the tunes are SO obscure...It usually goes something like:
Me: *absentmindedly humming or singing something*
Dustin: *Usually surprised*... Why on earth are you singing (or humming) _______?!
Fill in the blank...Cuz, it could be just about anything...

Tales From The Crypt theme

The list is too damn long, and has just about every song I ever heard

Most any song will do that...if I'm bored, I start to whistle...and any song I start whistling, I usually whistle badly at first. So I keep working on it, trying to improve it...and the song eventually becomes the song of the day. Like, yeah, for example, the Andy Griffith Show theme.

For songs that dive me crazy, I tend to get theme songs from shows I saw growing up. A-Team, Cheers, Family Ties, Fact Of Life, Different Stroke, and The Golden Girls are the most common.
That, and terrible hair metal songs from the 80s. Like Ratt, Poison, Motley Crue, Slaughter, Skid Row....

You would love the songs in "Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare" (out on DVD now, supposedly). There's this great number called "We Live To Rock," and it kind of goes,
We live, we live to rock!
We live, we live to rock!
We live, we live to rock!
That's why we're rockin', ROUUUUUUUND the clock!
And the word "clock" is like a meat cleaver coming down. This movie kicks ass. The rock band gets attacked by demons, fights Satan and stuff.

Well I guess a lot of their older stuff sounds like that...but they wore those things on their heads...really catchy tune..."She's in the corner everywhere ya turn/You know you're headed for the pleasure burn" etc. Kind of like a horror song about infatuation........

Okay, if you remember around 1975, doesn't matter how old or young you were, really, but if you remember hearing songs on the radio back then, you may recall a song by Maxine Nightingale and it went something like:

Love is good, love can be strong,
we gotta get it right back to where we started fro-om

70's....sorry grandpa....we are all much too young to remember that shit.
Ooo and it's alright and it's comin' 'long
We got to get right back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We got to get right back to where we started from
Oh-ohhhhh
Do you remember that day
(That sunny day)
When you first came my way
I said no one could take your place
And if you get hurt
(If you get hurt)
By the little things I say
I can put that smile back on your face
Ooo and it's alright and it's comin' 'long
We got to get right back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We got to get right back to where we started from
A love like ours
(A love like ours)
Can never fade away
You know it's only just begun
You give me your love
(Give me your love)
I just can't stay away
I know that you're the only one

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start
To make it better
Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin
To make it better
And any time you feel the pain
Hey Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulder
For well you know that it's a fool
Who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart
The you can start
To make it better
So let it out and let it in
Hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you
Hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin
Then you'll begin to make it better
