It is hard to decide. Freddy vs Jason had great action sequences, however, the movie was set up to support Freddy much more than Jason. JASON ALL THE WAY BABY!!! Nightmare is great because it is the original and the same stands for Friday. I thought that the SHINING sucked! Not the acting mind you, but the story itself didn't follow the book. The ending was totally destroyed that I hated it! I can't really find anything to say to support or put-down the movie. So I guess of the five I would have to go with EXORCIST.

I didn't vote. Your list sucks.

But, I would argue that you are in the 'right' forum, or at least an acceptable one. It's the 'General' so you can really talk about whatever you want. So I'm not going to flame you for that...

But your list still sucks and I'm still not voting.

Well... Though I have to agree it`s on the wrong forum, I never lose an opportunity to say The Exorcist is, and always will be, my favorite horror movie, untill the day I die.

Any poll asking for Best Horror Film had better include Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead (In addition to some of the ones you already have.)

Those should all just be standard on any poll like this. (Just because one person doesn't think they're the greatest doesn't mean a lot of others might disagree.)

You must got that from the hypnocile? Well, hypnocile has been there since Nightmare On Elm Street. Hypnocile has made many appearances in the Nightmare movies. Ok, maybe not THAT many, but still. And I have to agree on the action. There was more action then Horror. But think about this: two majoy, possibly the top two icon maniac slashers come together in an battle to the finish. If it had more Horror, I would be complaining. Because I got the movie for two reasons. One, to complete my Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th collection. Two, to see who will win, although it seemed like Freddy would soooo turn out the victor. (Please don't bother to disagree, I do NOT feel like telling you the many reasons why Freddy would win by a landslide. I've said it far to many times. Along with my hatred of Gay Ass Ash.) And to see who'll win, there should be lots of fight (action) scenes. And less Horror. I wanted to see Freddy and Jason brought together with no escape and battle to the death. And I did. I'm sure Freddy would've killed many more and made lots of Horror if they should what happened after Jason died and Freddy came back into the dreams of the children of Springwood. And Jason would sooner-or-later come back to life and kill people and making Horror.

FVJ was pretty good, but by no means groundbreaking and nowhere near being the best horror movie film.

Then the poll should be for 'Best Horror Film Out Of These Few Choices' instead of 'Best Horror Film'. I look at a poll called 'Best Horror Film' and then my favorite isn't even on the list. I'm not voting because IMO, the 'best' horror film isn't an option and neither is 'none of the above'.

Fuck the guy who hated The Shining. I think this movie is one of the rare cases where the film is actually BETTER than the book! I vote for it.

And Freddy Vs. Jason the best horror movie ever? Come on!! It's just Godzilla Vs. King Kong for the new millennium.

Hmmmmmm.......cant really pick. Probably wouldn't pick any of those choices. Depends what sort of horror you want. Slasher movies.......you cant go wrong with messers Jason, Micheal and Freddy. Although i would no way say Freddy vs Jason was the best of them.

The Shining is damn good and scared the shit out of me. Like some jumpy ghost stories like 'the others' (I'll probably get shot down in flames for sayin that).

Head fuck stuff like 'Ring' and 'Blair Witch' are cool.

But in my opinion, you cant beat a low budget gorefest. EVIL DEAD ALL THE WAY. Theres everythin in there for ya. Gore, comedy, romance, bit of martial arts. These films are a must for ya collection. Oh yeah.......Bad Taste too. That film is tats.

I just voted and I say The Shining, simply because it's the best one there, The Exorcist would come 2nd in my choices, purely because I found it funny.

Out of the list, I chose the Exorcist, and the Shining would follow close behind.

I think the Exorcist is pure horror. I mean, can you imagine that actually happening? That is what really scared me when I first saw it. Of course I was a child...
