The whole point of the rant was that this is supposedly horror.com, yet right on the top of the main page is a big flashy banner related to horror's antithesis, kiddy movies (and yes, the Harry Potter books are for kids, no matter how many teenagers/20somethings/adults read them, though I'm sure it took a lot of effort to get HP3's mediocre director to give you an interview).

It's not that we take horror seriously, because if you read any of the reviews you'll see that we don't take horror (or life) seriously. We're not specifically a horror movie website. We're a weird, random hodgepodge of various stuff dedicated to obscure and cult subject matter.

I mean, I don't go to HarryPotterFans.com to read about about Jenna Jameson's latest adventures in the porn world, and I just think that a big interview with Alfonso Cuaron is not appropriate for Horror.com (unless of course in the latest HP movie Harry is being stalked and murdered by Leatherface).

And no, I didn't post on the new members forum, because I don't do that sort of thing anywhere.

I think she means that your site is taking itself a little too seriously. Horror is fun, and includes a lot of movies on many levels. It is an escape anyway. Many amazing movies in the horror genre........but in the end it is just about being scared.....which can't get too serious or it becomes just sick! We want to escape reality a little in life!

Personally, hey I like Harry Potter, cute movies, a horror, to kids ya.........but if we want to promote it..........who the fuck cares....we happen to have kids on this site too! We include everything related I think.

There's a huge difference between Vin Diesel and Harry Potter, at least in my eyes. At least Riddick had murders and whatnot in it, as well as a sci-fi overtone. Harry Potter just has the "soon to be insanely hot" Emma Watson and slumming Gary Oldman as positives.

But you dont see any of us going over to your website saying "Oh this is gay, my sites better, my dad can kick your ass" deal. I and no other person on these forums have no control on what they post on the main page so take that up with someone else.

The html is a bit of a mess, but that happens (i guess) when you use includes, or wysiwyg editors. i know this is a little off-topic, but stuff like that bugs me.

Yet, despite my familiarity with this site, I can tell you that when I come across a site titled ?Horror.com?, I don?t expect to find promotion for films that are geared towards the kiddos or even remotely close to being labeled ?Family Friendly.? So, naturally, my initial reaction to Shaolin?s rant was similar. Harry Potter isn?t even CLOSE to being a horror film, and yet it?s being promoted on Horror.com through interview. Upon further inspection, however, I?ve noticed other films of Potter?s ilk also getting notice: Hellboy, Haunted Mansion, and Scary Movie 3; I?ve also noticed a couple thrillers getting nods: Taking Lives, Twisted; neither of which are horror. So it wasn?t long before I was able to sit back and recognize Horror.com was less about the Horror, and more about the "Horror/Thriller/Supernatural/Science Fiction/Kinda Spooky."

No biggie in my opinion, although I can understand where someone as severe as Shaolin would take seeing Harry Potter on the front page of what is supposed to be (in title at least) a site devoted to all things Horror the wrong way.

Third: Hate_Breeder, your need to drop the ?F? bomb at not just Shaolin, but at LivingCorpse.com as a whole is unjust. I have no wish nor desire to go to war with you and your kind, but I will not tolerate the ?F? bomb. I consider that the same as someone training a wild bull moose to piss in my bowl of Strawberry and Banana Cheerios?it?s just not right, man!

Of course, I?m only kidding. Fuck you in return, fucko. Haha, oh?I am so funny. That was hilarious. I?d use an emoticon to display a smirk, but I?m dumb, and therefore do not contain that type of knowledge within my massive brain. No, instead it?s LivingCorpse.com, a site title that could lend itself to several different meanings and ideas. Plus, nowhere on our site does it indicate that we ?strictly review horror films.? So, Hate_Breeder, I ask that you publicly retract your previous statements, and apologize for your blatant display of ignorance.

I?m just playing, dog. You don?t have to apologize. I know you didn?t really mean it, or your ?F? bombs. You were just acting out. It?s cool, we all do it from time to time. Shaolin does it all the time. That?s why I love him so.

And for the record, I?m willing to sellout for a reasonable amount. If someone out there is looking to buy an oversized white guy with no rhythm, email me! We can work a deal no matter what kind of credit you have.

I have gotten into using Microsoft Visual Studio because of my job. i really like it, and since i do all of my work in ASP .Net, it helps to use the tool it was designed in. :)

I like to keep it simple. I'm not trying to do anything fancy. The farthest I get is maybe an SQL database for a directory page for my pictures. It's all personal work. Notepad works very well for me because I have a good working knowledge of HTML, XHTML and CSS, so I don't have to constantly preview things to figure out how they are going to look.

If you're looking for an example of what a WYSIYG editor SHOULD be, check out the one built into the Mozilla web browser. I love it. If I really need to see a constant preview of my site, I use that.

Meh, i edit in VS, and just view in IE if i want to knwo how it looks. I have the template to my site honed tosuch an art, that when i create different themes for it, all i have to do is image editing for the textures, and simple modifications to the style sheets. it's pretty simple, but amzingly effective :)

The Mozilla editor does a very good job of keeping things clean and standards compliant, so you have cross browser-OS compatibility.It's free and it does the job much better than some commercial products I've tried.

Ah-hah. Cross-browser compatability... That is why I stopped using inline frames for my menus. One nice thing about ASP .Net, is that it generates HTML tags on the fly, based on what browser you are using. if your browser doesnt understand <span> tags, no biggie, it uses <div>.

The big thing is that ASP .Net contains actual programming, as opposed to scripting (like vbs or Javascript). Whats funny, is that without a knowledge of Javascript, ASP .Net isnt really very impressive.
