cremated or buried

would you rather be cremated or buried and why? also, what kind of a service would you like, like to be remembered, have engraved on tombstone?


i still haven't decided whether or not i'd like to be buried but perhaps opt for a compromise. probably be cremated and then have my ashes buried (unless one of you promises to bring me back)

as for how i'd like to be remembered: i want a big party thrown on the day of my death and for every single one of my guests to take turns dancing with my corpse to show how loved i was in life. this idea was adapted from a rumanian funeral tradition i heard about when i was 12. the festivities of course, will take place before the burning of the witch

i want The Smitherines-Blood and Roses to be played at my service because the girl being sung about reminds me of myself and i have always told anyone who would listen that i am that girl (in my mind anyway).

finally, i would like to have a page and quill engraved on my stone in rememberance that i was a writer in life.

I want my funeral service to be a party. I don't want a bunch of people standing around crying over my body. I want people to remember the good things/ about me and the good times we had and have fun.

I want them to play "Strativarious- I Walk To My Own Song" at my funeral.

caskets r pretty nice and id hate to haev an urn istting in one of my famils house

that and when they cremate u u dont burn all the way. usually ur molars and extremely thick bones are still in tact so after burning they mash u

that and my body is my body they can see that. them ashes can be anyone (several cases of trickster cremators)

Well, I've always wanted a nice funeral... But I guess it has more to do with the idea of having something there in memory of me (yes, it's vain, ugly, but it just... Feels nice, sorry...) than because of being actually buried... Besides that, anyway, the idea of "giving back to nature the elements it used to create me, so that it can decide the wiser way to employ them", is also something that pleases me... OK, I'm weird, feel free to tell me that... LoL

I choose "other." I want to be taken to a taxidermist and stuffed. Then, I can be mounted places, or star as a stunt-double in an action film (being thrown out of a window, for example), or just sat on the couch watching TV with my friends.

I want to be encased in Lucite and made into a coffee table, with the specification that any relatives inheriting my estate will have to keep me in the living room, where I can see the T.V.
I will also require that anyone using me also use a drink coaster, as I hate the little rings drinks leave behind.

Or, they can donate me to the Feed The Children foundation. I'm sure Sally Struthers is always hungry.

I want a pretty coffin (some shade of purple or lilac) that people will remember me being buried in such a pretty cushy coffin. And I want them to remember me. So I want "Dust in the Wind" (Kansas) played at sometime and the recessional be "Ripple" by the Grateful Dead. THAT is my favroite song and my license plates prove it!!! Hehe.

I chose other because I wanna get shot out of a cannon like Hunter S. Thompson. But i don't wanna totally copy him so I will not be creamated first... Just a dead body shot out of a cannon with a note taped to my chest. "If I just landed in your yard, then I'm your problem now..."

I figure it's a good way to let my loved ones off the hook for funeral expenses...

I saw a couple of years ago an artical about a guy how incased a body in resin as an art project. Where he got the body.....

It doesn't really matter, but I'd say burn me. Scatter my ashes somewhere nice.

hmm buried. A funeral isn't really for the deceased and I know that my family would prefer a burial. Turn to dust in an oven or turn to dust in a casket, the end result is the same.

I hate heat, so cremation really isnt my bag.

That said, we happen to have the remains of 3 relatives in my basement (no joke)...thankfully they're cremated, so it doesnt smell too bad:p
