ok ok ok. i guess this could go under the remakes section but whatever. I'm interested in seeing what you think of the dark castle remakes ie. house on haunted hill, ghost ship, 13 ghosts etc. Please include why you did or didnt like said movie/s, nothing is more lame than saying "It just sucked". I myself have mixed opinions. I like the effects in all of them, that and theyre all kinda cheesy- i think as them as a kinda cartoon horror. The first scene in Ghost ship was worth what i paid to rent it. :D

Ghost Ship was great but I don't think it was a remake.

I didn't know Thirteen Ghosts and Ghost Ship were remakes. Anyways, I LOVED House on Haunted Hill. I like Thirteen Ghosts as well, but it got pretty gay more towards the end. I didn't really like Ghost Ship, but I do agree that cable scene was fuckin' awesome.

I didn't know Ghost Ship was a remake but I liked that whole movie all the way through. I liked the scene where they show the betrayal of each group of people down to the singer then to the ghost guy who set them all up it was awesome. I did like thirteen Ghosts I thought that the depiction of each ghost was excellent and that there was a story behind each one I think was more that most horror writers and directors ever woul get into. I think it made the movie better to have those back stories. If anyone is not sure what I am talking about just check out the special features on the DVD and there it has a section on each ghosts backstory. I do have to say that it did get a little cheesy right at the end and the way the movie was solved was a bit cheap.

Originally "House on the hounted hill" from 1959 was great. "Ghost ship" is good. However "13th ghosts" is very strange. I did not take a fency but most of people like this film. It is the best on this board.

Avenger to the rescue. Haha. 13 Ghosts was a remake of a William Castle flick that was originally in 3-D. House on Haunted Hill was also a reworking of Castle (hence the name Dark Castle). But Ghost Ship as well as Gothica are original flicks.

So far I have enjoyed them all but 13 Ghosts. Loved the character designs, didn't like the plot. A little too corny for me (same reason I didn't like the original).

They couldve put more thought into the 13 ghosts plot. more twists. that wouldve kept the movie goin.the original was kool, because the audience had to wear 3-D glasses in order to see them(like in the remake, but they put that into the movie), but i wanted more GORE. it was pretty gory, but I wanted more.

13 Ghosts had some cool characters (The Hammer, the guy at the junkyard...forget his name...), but I found the rest of it to be pretty boring and probably would never watch it again.

I really didn't like House on Haunted Hill. Most people love it, but I just got really bored and found it to be incredibly cheesy and overdone..

Ghost Ship had like 2 instances of really good gore (as previously mentioned one of them was the cable cutting through bodies like clay), but the rest of it was eye bleedingly boring, and I can't say I liked it.

Gothika looks cool, but I know I probably won't like it. I'm just not a fan of ghost or psycho thriller movies, and the only ones I really enjoy are The Sixth Sense and Stir of Echos.

I heard they are going to remake House of Wax next and even put it in 3-D.

sean 1605 I am just curious are you really only interested in gore and kills. SUspense holds nothing for you. I just wanted to know because it just seems like a bad idea to see a preview that you yourself says looks cool and then say you won't like it. If all you like is gore nothing wrong with that but does that mean that every movie that does not have a significant bloody body count bore you?
