Not missing anything, Michael Moore is trash.
Unless of course he was to allow himself to be duct taped to his bed and set on fire. Now thats MUST SEE TV!

what carnage did was make a joke, not once mentioning the victims of columbine. Michael Moore on the otherhand being the fat insipid piece of vomit that he is, burrowed his greasy nose so far up those peoples asses he could tell what they had for dinner, showing them pictures and video of their children being killed then has the nerve to ask them how it makes them feel? FUCKING GET A CLUE, it was like killing them twice. Claiming he did it for the people , bullshit, he did it for a payday, and thats it. He could give a jumped up monkey fuck about those kids, and Im sure not once did he think to himself that if he could have taken the place of one of them so that they could have a future never crossed his mind. Interviewing a bunch of hilljack rednecks that think gun control is all about how well they aim, and not understanding the fact that Hunting is a priveledge, Gun Ownership is a RIGHT. He uses the system much like the welfare abusers use the system. Finds out what hurts, and uses it against the masses for personal gain. Academy award? for HIM? nah, perhaps a good beat down then take a picture with your nuts sitting on his forehead leaving it behind so he can see just how much of a dickhead he really looks like.

Bah. Michael Moore is a genious. There may be a skewed perspective put into his work, but it's all based on facts, including the murder rates and such. America is the only major country with problems like this, period.

I personally think Micheal Moore is a visionary. He say what everybody else is thinking, but are too afraid to mention. Thats why I love Canada, sure, we are alot like the US, but we dont get persecuted for speaking our minds....well, not quite as bad, I should say. This guy saw what was going wrong in the sad excuse of a country that is the US, and decided he'd show everyone, in the best way he knew how.....make a film, expose secrets, prove things noone else would prove, but knew were true. Dont be dissin him.

Well I loved that movie, but could see how it would offend Americans though. Yes I see your point there Je suis, and you are right there......nevertheless....there is a point Moore is making, and it can't be totally dissed. A lot of people are responsible gun owners out there my hub included......but seems there is a problem with people getting them too easily there.
I know he made up the stats about Canada, but we have murders here in mb. and rarely do they ever involve guns......also much less murders here over all, and we were the murder cap of Ca.
I think Moore just approaches things in an obnoxious way!
Anyway...this is an American discussion that I will otherwise stay out of.....would be annoyed if Americans watched a movie on us and were discussing it........I don't live there, so can't really call it!

Tell them about Canadians? Well ... first, I have to say that the United States, with all of its "freedoms", is a hell of a lot more conservative than Canada is. People are so passionate about the issues in the States, that the government almost feels responsible for dictating a national morality, which really sucks. Morality is not the government's job! As far as gun control goes: well .... I know I am about to get shit all over by the gun fans here ... but .... I just don't see the pleasure people get out of stockpiling guns. I mean ... I can understand owning a handgun for protection (you almost need one, nowadays), but the folks who have entire arsenals are the ones I don't understand. It seems to me (and this is just my opinion) that guns were made for one thing -- to hurt people. And I have to question people who think these things are fantastic. But then, I can understand the intricacies involved in gun collecting. The machinations of the pieces, the beauty (yes, beauty) of the make. I can see that. I don't share it, but I can appreciate it. However, I don't see the pleasure in running off and shooting guns for fun. That seems a little odd to me. "Hell ya! I feel powerful with this bitch!!" I dunno. I could never get that.
But, Moore's argument isn't really about gun control. At the basis of the "Bowling for Columbine" film is the idea that American's live in fear, and this fear is the result of many things. Our history, our media, our entertainment, etc. I don't know if I entirely agree, but he makes interesting points. Americans DO seem to have a fear of their homes being invaded, or being assaulted on the street, etc. And whether or not that fear is valid, I do not know. I work in a school in a low-income area, and there have been stabbings in my district. But, even so, I do not go to work fearing what will happen to me during the day. I don't know why.

Guess that pretains to me Stingy I own 37 guns and enough ammo to take out a platoon of people...LOL
I guess the whole issue with me and guns is for one thing I'm a survivalist and just want to be prpared if something crazy ever did happen. That doesn't mean I'm a psycho and just want them for the sole purpose of going out and killing people.... but like I said i'm a survivalist and in my eyes better safe than sorry....
Also I just love the aspect of collecting them..
And for the sake of just going out and shooting guns for the fun of it, you gotta learn how to shoot a gun to be accurate, and practice makes perfect;)

You are absolutely right about Ca. Stingy! We are way more liberal, more like Europe! We love dising our politicians too...if they are stupid....no loyalty there!
I am being tactful about this subject though because a lot of my best friends are American, and I don't want to lump them into a stereotype! Canadians should know all about that too well!
If MM had done a similar movie about something in Canada, I don't think we would have been as sensitive, because we can get into criticizing ourselves bigtime....we enjoy it actually! LOL!
But.......it would piss us off if it gave a negative impression to people from other countries........don't shit in your own nest kinda thing!
Love my American buds!

Yes, I realize there are some really great people that enjoy collecting and shooting their guns. It's very interesting how people's interests differ so much. I just was never the type to get into things like guns. Or football. And that makes me gay in the eyes of a lot of dudes. :)

omg i agree with him. 100% when people take up the sport of shooting wether its hunting or target shooting it is nothing to do with the power it makes them feel. saying that is just arogant sure a minority do but most don't . most people do it becasue they see being a good shot as a skill or even a way of spending time with friends in a enviroment which they have a lot of things in common. anyone involved in the sport will tell you, there's a lot more involved than just going out shooting things up and getting some sort of cheap buzz.
btw i think that duco moore made was excellent. but i wouldn't confuse him for making the film for any thing else but money

I know the feeling. I'm not into fast cars or guns or sports, etc.
I'm into computers, scifi, horror, books, creating music and philosophy. That would make me a flaming homo by a lot of peoples standards.

Michael Moore is a fucking jerkoff and should be deported or shot. All he does is pick an issue he knows is contriversiol and will get him press and then exploits the hell out of it i honestly hate this man and fell he should be handed over to iraqi terrorist so he can be tortured an mutilated since he sees no problem in it
IMO the u.s president is under more stress then any other nations leader and when he makes a decision it is to him at that time the best decision and we americans should have to support him regardless
