"Oh shit! Did you hear that?" she asked.
"It's nothing." he said, "Probably just the wind." He reached over the arm of the couch and switched on the lamp. Warm light instantly filled the room. "See, nothing to worry about."
"This place is just so creepy. I cant believe you used to live out here" she said, then pulled herself closer to him. "You finally got some time off and we have to spend it here."
He sighed, and streched his arm out, letting it rest across her shoulders. "Well, Honey, I stay on the road most of the year, and when I do get to relax, I like to come back and check on the old place." he said, then grinned and added,"Besides, I like the woods." If only she knew the real reason, he thought.
She leaned forward and kissed him gently on the lips. "I'm sorry baby, I dont mean to nag. I'm just still kinda freaked out. They just found all those kids dead, and they still havent found the killer. It just scares me to death."
She had to bring that up. "Relax babe," he said,"that was miles away from here." He was lying. It was just across the lake. "that guy's probably long gone." Another lie.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Besides i've got a big, strong man like you to protect me." She began unbuttoning her blouse. " What i really want to know is, are we gonna fuck down here, or upstairs."
She laughed and reached for his crotch. he stopped her hand and took it in his. I'm not in the mood just yet." he said. He knew what happened when you took sex too casually. Bad things.
She frowned, then said, "Are you feeling alright? I mean, its been so long."
Not long enough, he thought. What is it with people these days? It seemed like every time he went to work, everyone was doing it. He'd be strolling along, minding his own business, and there they'd be, going at it like a couple of rabbits. No respect is what it is, and he wouldn't have it. He showed them the error of their ways. No matter if they were in their cars, or cabins, and they were out in the middle of the woods. They should have known better.
"Geeze, you ok? Youve been staring out into space for a few minutes now. I was getting worried," she said. She stood up and walked over to the door where the bags were and unzipped one of the pockets. She reached inside and pulled out a small wooden box. "I've got what you need right here."
"What is that?" he asked. She smiled and said, "Something thats gonna chill you out and blow your mind at the same time." She opened the box. Inside was a small bag of a green leafy substance and a pack of rolling papers. "This will get you in the mood."
