What have been some eerie experiences you have had before, during, or after viewing a horror movie, reading a horror novel, et cetera?

If you don't have any pertaining to the horror genre, maybe you can give some from random experiences in life.

SHADOW PEOPLE!!!
when riding bikes when i was younger there was a shadow of someone walking down the sidewalk so i went to the rode to avoid a collision and i watched as the shadow of this person dissapeared behind a telephone poll. I have a witness that was with me. I know probley my crazy Mind playing tricks on me but it kinda creeped me out at the time.

i had a dream of my nice nephuew n sis dien in a crash 2 days later my sis missed the south ferry cuse my nehpew then it cerashed in to a brick wall killin 10 people

all to many... after seing blair witch at a friends house i was on my way home, took the long way home thrugh the forrest just to absorb the creepyness of the current day, the fog was as thick gravy and i couldnt se jack.
and suddenley i hear my name in a highpich whisper\growl...naturaly i get spooked and start looking around...nothing behind me...nothing infront of me...just to be sure i checked behind myself again and there was some sneaking up behind me with a stick... my heart jumped out of my mouth but thankfully it was only a friend who saw me go thrugh there and he decided to fuck with me...i killed him and ate his brains though

i seen the ring in school affter the 1st time they showed the lady watchin the movie the phone rings in the movie at the same time the phone rings in my class the who room jumped n looked at the phone

The Mothman Prophecies Thriller Movie

This happened after watching the film on it. A month later after I forgot about the movie I got two strange phone calls with weird noises, but no one answered. Then the same sound was left on my answering machine. About a week later my house started to get infested with small moths that were coming out of nowhere. I could not figure it out??? Eventually they disappeared after a couple of days.

Then shortly after all this happened I got some real bad news. One of my best friends was killed in a car accident. This devastated me and I was in total shock, sadness, and anger. He was only 22. What is even stranger is that I may have gone out that night with him and met the same fate. I tell you life is to short people, so live it while you are here. I don't know what to think of the calls.

when i was younger i used to get really scared at night, so i would lock my bedroom door and sleep with the lights on. one night i was sleeping in my room, lights on,door locked and i woke up and my father was in the room looking at me. i sat up in my bed thinking he wanted to say something to me and we talked for a while. when we were through he said "you better go to bed and turned off my light and walked out the door,closing it behind him. the next morning i woke up and my light had been turned off, but my door was still locked. there was no way he could have gotten inside. i asked him about it and he didnt know anything about it.

Well let's see the one that most freaked me out...I went on an"adventure" with a bunch of friends we went to check out this place called Hell House(old Mt. Saint Marys all girl Academy)its in MD. We all drove up walked "up" the Stairs to this place (sign was spray painted Stair way to HELL)Continued along this over grown path up to the huge house that use to house young girls in the early 70's. We entered through a boarded up window and came into the middle of a great hall..there was a main stair case leading up to the dorm rooms...down the left was classes and to the right was a lounge(looked like a sitting room and a library combined) Half of us went towards the classes while the others went up the stairs. Upstairs was a series of doors . In the first room was an old wedding dress and a bunch of porn magazines. In the second room was a bunch of old motorcycle parts. In the third was a sleeping bag and a pentagram with candles highlighting the points. After noting privately to ourselves someone was definatley staying here we heard a noise from down the hall when we were going to investagate there was a scream from down stairs.. We went to check on the others down stairs.. When we met up with the others they assured us they too had heard the scream (not from any of them). My friend Brandon had mentioned I was right to have changed my mind and should have brought my weggie(sp?) board. I told him I didnt change my mind he continued to tell me we had had a complete conversation just 20 minutes ago( I was the only blonde in the group)I explained I was upstairs with the others(freaky). Well after dismissing that we continued on to the class rooms we looked through the small window in the first couple doors. recked rooms, desks (what was left of them)over turned, crap everywhere. we continued to a huge room we guessed was a cafeteria( the kitchen was attached) we entered the kitchen to note a knife in the wall..water dripping from the ceiling..rust all the way down the wall(except the knife showed no rust wear). We heard a noise from behind us and contined back towards the classrooms. A scream came from a class room and we heard what sounded to be an authority figure saying something too mumbled to make it out. Footsteps started from the cafeteria we started towards the door... the sounds echoed as to peirce through us. a strange coolness surround us as we headed for the window we entered. As we all made it out the window we heard dogs barking we noticed a kennel to the left of the house(didnt notice before) No dogs in it though..We picked up speed wondering where the dogs were. my friend Brandon noticed a figure standing in the window of the second floor. We got the hell out of there... After everyone exited over the train tracks . We decided to go to the closest gas station (bathroom break..heheh) We asked the attendant what she knew about the old house and she said the grounds keeper was committed a couple of months ago for shooting a kid with a salt pelt gun claimed there were voices all over the house.. His dogs were layed to sleep they had gone "mad" not sure how much of that I believe ....but nothing prepared me for the sounds and feeling I got from the time I entered that damn house.. I will not be returning anytime soon..

well, it was not after seeing a movie or anything, but this one night, I was surfing the web, I was home alone, my room is right beneath my sisters, and I hear footsteps, I thought, hmmm, might be something that fell down , but then after a while again, so I trun on my light (it's mostly out when Im on the comp) go upstairs and see in her room...nothing, I come back down, the light is out
it was pretty freaky

azlso I hear allot of stuff like someone banging at the door, it's not the wind, this sound is way more heavyer
so, it's an old house, meh, Im 21 and still alive so

I've never used one of those, I should try it... I need a good scare... The kind of scare that you don't get from horror movies, but from real life unknown freakiness...

Ouiji..I knew it had a weird spelling..They are not to be taken lightly. I have had many..many weird experinces with mine till I put it in black lawn leaf bag and put it in the truck of my car.. I had a car accident three days later..the car was totaled and compacted one week later at the junk yard...Ouiji and all. I will not be fucking with one of those any time soon. They open unwanted doors.

the best thing you can do with a ouiji board is wait till you have a party, preferably a halloween party, find someone who is a decent actor, then convince them to go along with you. get on the ouiji board with them then make it go crazy, just a little at first, answer a few questions then make it say stuff about death and other evil stuff. if there is at least 1 gullible person there you can have a great time.

This is kind of dumb but Im bored so, I was at work once and while working on a car I had an accident, a jack fell out from beneath a car and a jagged piece of metal removed a very large chunk of my thumb, I just grabbed a towel and kept working until i soaked the towels with blood. I remember pulling the towels off and looking at the raw meat that was once my thumb and thinking, well I wont be playing the piano anytime soon, I guess it was a defense mechanism from the shock. I found the whole thing quite humorous at the time. I had plastic surgery and my thumb looks almost normal except it is now my evil appendage and tries to commit acts of violence but the other fingers wont cooperate, and a thumb on its own cant do shit. Hell of a wrestler though, break your fucking thumb right off. Hey moonsorrow, what do brains taste like??? Chicken??? Seems everything tastes like chicken, even my neighbors liver tasted like chicken, youd think it would taste like liver but it taste like chicken. Huh.

I was petrified watching The Blair Witch Project in the theater, I was going along with the concept that it was a documentary. I still haven't seen a movie that's scaried me more then that one.

That's pretty damned funny.. I tore a chunk out of my right thumb on a Rotozip, it healed up pretty well though... Never committed evil acts...

(Don't try wankin' it with that hand anymore... I won't even begin to imagine what could happen... Now that's horror...)

Reminds me of the movie "Idle Hands" with that anal-retentive teen butt-throb, Devon Sawa... which, in turn, reminds me of The Mooninites from "Aqua Teen Hunger Force:"

well I know that twister isnt a horror movie but there is another thread about him on the general page and i thought this applied cuz it scared the crap outta me....well my bro and i went to see twister the first day it came out and as soon as the movie was over the tornado sirens went off all around town and an f3 tornado hit the town that i was in that day and it scared us shitless lol

Well I was about 16 and watching some kind of ghost special on TV. Well I was in my parents room on their bed watching it. I was all alone in the house and the only light on my parent's bedroom light that I was in. Well just about when it was over I hear my name in a wisper going from left to right like it was behind me. Then I fell what I can only describe as someone taking their finger and moving it across my shoulder. MAN I FLIPPED OUT!!! I ran out of the room and turned all the lights on in the house. After it was all said and done I thougth about it and had a laugh of how stupid I was and I felt like an idiot because I new it was my imagination playing tricks on me.

Alrightm, this is kind of a step in a differetn direction, I was at the movies with my girliefriend seeing "Eight Legged Freaks" (That crap fest of a movie). I was eating over-buttered popcorn, and got some shcmutz on my face, so I wiped it off. I guess my dangling fingers looked like a spider to her, but she (being deathly afraid of spiders) screamed louder than I have ever heard a living creature scream.

I thought this post was about experiences, not dreams like most of you are talking about...well, I guess a dream is something one experiences, so I can deal with y'all....
My horrific experience, happened while I was quiet awake indeed.
You know those lil black and white dudes called penguins? Well, yeah, at the age of 5 I went to go and see a penguin show, which I think took place at a local Ice-rink (where u go ice skating), where the penguins do all kindsa stunts and stuff. I was so looking foward to this...
The car drive took about 1 hour and a half, and well, y'all can relate to the time you thought you wouldn't need to go, so you didn't go, and for the last 20 minutes of the journey, you're just about springin' a leak??
Well, that was the case...we got there a little late, and therefore had to park right across the other side of a huge lot, as most ppl were already there, and inside. I took the oppertunity to take a quiet piss behind one of the cars in the lot, and two things happened, both very damn much a horrific experience....when I went to zip on up, my elbow bumped the car window, and this huge-ass german shepherd dog that was up until this point hidden in the car started barking really damn loud , banging it's mouth against the window, all drooling n shit...like right next to my face...and although it was behind a window, man, I was like 5, and it was dark....that was #1....and it's most likely due to #1 that #2 occured, as I said, this was just before zipping up again, and, long story short, I jumped, I zipped a little too quick,we didn't get to see the penguin show, and I still have a scar that wins any competition HANDS DOWN. This, my friends, was a truly horrific experience.
