I KNOW! it is so unfair. All those useless sales people make more money anyway, then get laid off because they didnt make the comapny enough, and get a 4 month paid vacation with their severance.
I have survived 5 layoffs in the 3 yerars i have been here.....
And i still cant get promoted.

Heh... My 9th and 10th grade english teachers hated me.
9th grade didnt like that i was different....
10th grade.... Mt Pinatubo blew it's top, so they redistributed a ton of people from the phillipines. I went to NATO school over in the netherlands. Just my luck, the woman that became my teacher was a refugee. I have nothing against philipinos, but if english isnt your first language, and you arent very good at it, you should not be teaching it.
She claimed she had 2 master's degrees in english. Almost every class degraded into a story session about her poverty-stricken childhood, or stupid tales about her father's and sister's ghosts visiting her.....
She would tell us to turn in homework she never assigned, then give the entire class an F for not having it. She would test us on material she never covered. She made us sit through My Girl 3 fucking times....
We repeatedly complained to the school board and principal about her, but they never listened, they thought we were just picking on her. AT the end of the year, 90% of her students failed english for the year, the other 10% didnt make above a low c or d.
Only THEN did they fire her. No attempts were made to allow us to correct our grades, so i spent the next two years fighting my way out of remedial english classes...
In the end, in 12th grade, i finally convinced my next school that i SHOULD be in a higher level class. They refused to allow me into AP, so i ended up in college prep. I ende dup having the best teacher ever in Senior year english, so i guess it all worked out,but how is that for a tale of getting seriously fucked over?

Wow ... that does sound pretty bad. Yeah, my school had a couple of English teachers that really shouldn't be teaching English. One of them has a degree in music, and the other was an alcoholic. I remember having to watch the alcoholic's first period class one morning because she had to "run home for some medicine." She came back to scool thirty minutes later, totally boozed up, and slipped in the hallway, twisting her ankle. I ended up losing my entire off period watching her kids. And they didn't fire her! It wasn't until the next year that her kids, who were in AP English with previous records of A's and B's, were struggling to scrape by with C's. The administration finally got rid of her. I honestly don't know all of the things the administrators have to consider when they fire a teacher, but I do know that student complaints (no matter how many) won't cut it. They won't listen to the students because: A) The teacher is actually pretty effective, but tough, and the students want to get rid of her so they plan a mass complaint B) If they fire a teacher without hard evidence, there may be an impending lawsuit. In your case, it may be that the adminstrators believed something was wrong with your 10th grade teacher due to student complaints, but were unable to take any serious action until the evidence (the grades) were submitted. Although, it is a horrible thing that no attempt was made to change the grades. That can really mess with a student's future. Can't get into certain colleges without a good high school GPA.

Pretty much. It was a Department of defence school, so they could have fired her simply because they didnt like her (military employing civilians), but the civilian administration of the school assumed that any and all student complaints were just to get rid of hard teachers.
This lady went so far one time to tell a student (not even one of hers!) that his german girfreind was slut because she was with him (she was a philipino who had us citezenshiop because she married an american GI....), and the school blew him off...
I'm glad that was my last year there.
