I was wondering how most of you rent your movies, local stores, (chain stores and Independents) internet services or do you just buy them and add them to your collection?

Most of the time I buy them cause usually when I rent I end up keeping a few extra days and by the time I pay late fees and shit I could have done bought the damn movie.....
So yeah I usually buy.

I usually rent, but if I see a movie that sounds at all decent, for a good price, I buy it.

As I mentioned in my "Deathwatch" thread in the Modern Horror Movies forum, my wife manages a Blockbuster. So I get to see all the new releases before they're available to the public FOR FREE!! It's a great way for me to screen a film before I buy it without getting burned. Granted, she doesn't get ALL the new releases ... so I have to rent on occaision. Got screwed with "Hallow's End".

The reason I ask is because I used to work in a small shop, and the Horror selections were always gone...the shop closed due to Blockbuster coming to town. Now you watch what they think you should watch, or subscribe to one of the internet services like I do.

I aint rented for years now, go to the cinema now and again, but most of the stuff I buy is either reccommended to me by word of mouth, or hear about them here or on other sites.
As for Blockbusters, I could never find enough of the obscure stuff at my local, there was always too much mainstream stuff.

Actually...It has become so expensive to rent...I just buy them used, for the same price, and I don't have to ever take them back...No late fees either...So, kinda cheaper to buy
