New to this forum but not to the horror genre.
So who am I? I'm an aspiring screenwriter. While I have several sold short stories, as well as a novel under my belt, there's just something inherently more fun about the audiovisual aspect of screenplays.
Since this is a horror forum, I guess I should tell you what I like. It depends on my mood. I can enjoy anything from the existential dread of Kafka and Sartre (if that counts as horror), to lovecraftian cosmic horror, to the goriest slasher films.
As far as films/stories that have actually stuck with me, here's a short top 10 list:
1. The Shining
2. Audition
3. The Exorcist
4. The turn of the screw
5. I have no mouth and I must scream
6. Hereditary
7. Eraserhead (does this count as horror?)
8. The Uzumaki manga
9. Funny Games
10. The Fly
There's a lot more of course, but as you can tell, I like slow burners.
