New to this forum but not to the horror genre.

So who am I? I'm an aspiring screenwriter. While I have several sold short stories, as well as a novel under my belt, there's just something inherently more fun about the audiovisual aspect of screenplays.

Since this is a horror forum, I guess I should tell you what I like. It depends on my mood. I can enjoy anything from the existential dread of Kafka and Sartre (if that counts as horror), to lovecraftian cosmic horror, to the goriest slasher films.

As far as films/stories that have actually stuck with me, here's a short top 10 list:

1. The Shining

2. Audition

3. The Exorcist

4. The turn of the screw

5. I have no mouth and I must scream

6. Hereditary

7. Eraserhead (does this count as horror?)

8. The Uzumaki manga

9. Funny Games

10. The Fly

There's a lot more of course, but as you can tell, I like slow burners.

Welcome to the forums, Bob! Excellent set of films and stories there. I was always a fan of The Fly (especially the Cronenberg film, which do you mean?) and Exorcist. I'm a sound designer for plays, who's helped with filming, and a radio show. You can let me know if you ever want to work on something. (I'll send you a Private Message).

Yeah, I meant the Cronenberg version. Few filmmakers can do body horror the way he does.
