Hi all, trying to find a horror movie that I can’t recall the name of. Any help appreciated!
Probably an Indie film, it’s a ghost/haunted house story with a twist.
The twist is the people were dead all along, it starts and ends with the car crash that killed the occupants and the story takes place as the character is dying but not realising it. I remember it being quite surreal and only remember the start and the end. It had a haunted house style of weirdness as the main plot.
Time line definitely in the last 10 years, possibly in the last five.
Vague I know but I’ll know it when I see it. I hope!
Cheers,
G.

Thanks for response. Definitely English language, I am reasonably certain that it is American film. But could be British. Super vague I know..sorry.

Do you remember how many people that was in the crash?

And the movie takes place in a house?

It was just a couple as far as I remember, but they may have had a kid as well.

And did the movie take place in a house or in the car?

The house, but as the movie goes on the reality of the car crash start to bleed through like the flashing lights, sirens and I think some of the characters ‘in real life’. (same device used in a lot of movies).
So the car crash is the reality, and the movie of a surreal kind of ghost story with strange things happening isn’t real. That’s the twist.

Doesn’t the movie take place at a hospital?

I’m thinking Room 6, but that movie is from 2006.

It’s not Haunting of Winchester House unfortunately, but thanks. It’s not Room 6 either (it’s not set in a hospital). It’s not Dead End either but shares some stuff in common with these.

Of course it could be The Others (2001). You can watch the trailer on youtube and see if it's it.

Definitely not, it’s set modern day. More of a dying dream than they were dead all along.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it and I’m also fairly sure it came out the same year as We Are Still Here. But I can’t for the life of me remember the name.

I think you are totally correct on the year, I checked my entire watch history and expected to see it on there around the time I saw We Are Still Here. I originally thought I watched the mystery film in 2016 but it would have been 15-16 for sure.
Hoping my subconscious will come up with it..

That happens throughout the movie, weird stuff happening in the ‘dream’ are things from reality bleeding through into it like the sirens and lights.

Did it have a name something like, Home Buyers; House for Sale; Looking for a House?
About the only other thing I can suggest isn't really in a house, but in a motel.

It was definitely a house, and the title could be familiar. It’s fading out of my memory a fair bit. Annoying that I can only remember that particular scene vividly and seems like it could be from so many movies.

Not a movie but it could possibly be the episode The 12 Days of Christine from the show Inside No. 9.
