In this thread I will bringing you news from the underground/indie movie scene.

New films, releases, and anything I can dig up from the bowels of the underground.

These are my favorite sort of film. It has no boundaries and a filmmaker has total control. I like that, I don't like rules or having to fit in a box. I knew nothing of these types of movies until 2008 when I joined my first horror movie forum, and there was an underground section, so I took a look and was mesmerized and here I am in 2020, running my own underground film forum, produced 2 underground movies and been connected with others. I made some good friends and want to share my thoughts and this amazing cinema. Maybe there is a future fan lurking this forum, and this is exactly what they are looking for, but doesn't know it yet..::love::

Women in extreme cinema

Although the term “extreme cinema” can encompass a variety of work the common thread can be described as something that lives outside of societal norm. Films made in this genre are not confined by the same parameters has conventional horror and because of this the filmmaker has total freedom to explore the darkest depths of the human mind. There is also liberation in the fact that not a terrible amount of money is needed to accomplish an effective work in the extreme genre. This leaves a larger opportunity for people who don’t have immediate access to millions of dollars to still create something impactful.
What’s interesting is that for a genre that has no boundaries and requires few resources to complete a project, we generally tend to think of it as being inherently masculine. For the discerning enthusiast of extreme cinema we know this simply is not the case. From Amy Holden Jones, to Svetlana Baskova, and Poison Rouge, women have greatly been contributing. Yet the spotlight is still noticeably one-sided and it is with this project that we are seeking to change that.
FUKT is the first of its kind anthology to specifically highlight women in extreme cinema.
Our hope is to inspire and open up more opportunities within this important genre.

Each toy will be about 7 3/4 inches high, all hand made and numbered... limited to 75, and will offer them 25 at a time since their hand made and takes time. Be about 100 each. Larva Mental (2020) is the title of the extreme film presented by the Italian director Domiziano Cristopharo (House of Flesh Mannequins) and directed by the newcomer Mikel Balerdi (born in 1985), an artist of Basque origin linked to the world of painting, tattoos and body suspension but also to that of the most extreme body art, a field in which it is known for its shocking and powerful shows.
Halfway between extreme and experimental cinema, Larva Mental is a mirror that reflects extreme body art as a form of transgression and expression but, above all, it is an excursion into the director's imaginative and painful mind.

lMikel Balerdi writes, directs and plays a film that is certainly unsustainable given the topic addressed. In Larva Mental the human body becomes the artistic fulcrum that reveals the complex inner world of the artist, who manages to externalize it with manifestations of all kinds and against any sense of modesty.
In this regard, the performer and director goes further by pushing himself into irreverent and profanatory practices of the human body, insulting religion and the meaning of life with clear provocative intentions

man who goes away from home for days leaving his daughter alone (Dairi Gaona). The latter, after having unintentionally found videos that immortalize him in some extreme performances, writes him a farewell letter and then gets lost in the path of self-harm.
Returning from the long journey, the man will come to terms with his inner monsters and will let himself go to any form of self-destruction as an extreme gesture of physical and psychic punishment .

In addition to being a cauldron of extreme body representations in which self-harm and nudity rites related to performing art prevail, Larva Mental is a place where drugs, incest and various paraphilias also lurk, including necrophilia. In this regard, Balerdi's film recalls Buio Omega by Joe D'Amato while the colorful decomposing body (created by the director himself in collaboration with Dairi Gaona) seems to pay homage to that of the mermaid found by a painter in Mermaid in a Manhole , the fourth chapter of the Japanese saga Guinea Pig .

Hey everyone ! In case you've always wondered, why I don't use Twitter, its because I simply cannot make short posts. I'm more of an Odyssey , by Homer kinda guy... anyway.... so i know i haven't posted much about our semi-super secret project SYMBOLICUS, but maybe its time i should ! amoung the many other irons in the fire i have going right now. SYMBOLICUS Volume 1. is just about to the finish line, What is SYMBOLICUS?.... I hear you say.....and here is the answer, During the lockdowns , i thought it would be a fun way for artists/filmmakers to do something creative. since some of us had limited resources, budgets or no to very little access to actors or crew. it was a short film project that could be done either by their self, with roomates, or family, or even something new made from older footage from other past projects given a new life. its a little bit of everything, its not all exactly horror, but it's fucking weird, wild, absurd, and strange. its got a surprising amount of nudity, and some fun extreme gore on the low tech. hoping to have everything ready by the end of November, should have a teaser trailer ready soon. but here's the deal. you don't have to buy this from me, ..... because this is more like an insane art collective, more so than a traditional anthology. i really encourage anyone to buy copies from their favorite filmmakers. this project got crazy big, and now holds over 30 filmmakers from around the world. each bringing something unique to the table. i've split it up into 3 volumes. so in the coming months, i'll finish compiling everything for part 2 and following up with vol 3 shortly after the new year. below is the ever growing list of filmmakers who are involved ! Wilhelm Müller and Tony Newton Present: Suicide Tapes

The first horror film of its kind!
Twisted dark horror direct from the underground!

Filmmakers Wilhelm Müller and Tony Newton are calling for submissions for a new horror anthology Suicide Tapes. The film will feature sick and depraved suicides caught on video tape. Create a short horror film in under 5 minutes. Each short film must include a death by suicide scene and can either include just the suicide or also a little story surrounding it.

The tapes will appear to be found and can include the victim talking direct to the camera. Can be filmed using any camera or smartphone as long as the film is delivered in landscape orientation 1080p HD. You will need a title at the start and end credits. This is an Underground Horror anthology film and can feature graphic scenes of faux blood, nudity and gore but NO REAL SELF HARM.
