I was dubious about it, but decided to give it a go. Glad I did, it was awesome. Definitely buying this one on DVD and had to give it a rave/rant...

Your not alone. I checked it out a few days ago. I love this horror movie. I seriously need to watch more horror movies like this one. If anyone knows any others, please let me know. This horror movie was awesome! ::love::

Hopefully the trilogy goes ahead. With the monstrous profit it made, even before the dvd release, I'm sure it will.

Cosmic horror is upon us!

dying to see this one ..I'm a big fan of Richard Stanley and Nick Cage.

This has to be better than the previous attempt (The Curse)

There has been a few adaptaions since The Curse - Die Farbe and Colour from the Dark.

I think they have already started work on The Dunwich Horror - I hope it is better than the last one. I do have faith in the director even before I saw Color.

I wonder what the last film will be - logically I am thinking Cthulhu but I would like to see The Thing on the Doorstep. Innsmouth has been done pretty well already and I can't see it being Mountains after Del Toros failed attempt.

Dagon was for me the best Lovecraft film made so far.
maybe not true to the story but the look of the film was perfection.

Agreed - have you see either of the HPHS films - the silent Call of Cthulhu from 2005. It's pretty much an exact adaptation of the story...

They also did Whisperer in the Darkness which is also pretty close save for the last act. Both are well worth seeing.

I have a fondness for the 1970 Dunwich Horror but it is a very loose adaptation.
