I always wanted to play this.

Looked kind of like horror with sci-fi elements.

Third person game.

I don't remember much other than you seemed to be a test subject in some kind of hospital or facility, escaping.

You *may* have started the game wearing like a gown or some such, or maybe my brain is just filling in the blanks there.
You had powers - like...telekinetic powers?

If I'm not blurring lines between this and other games, I believe you might have been able to possess people, or like...make them do things at least?

So - Anyone know what it was?
Was it any good/worth tracking down? I don't mind a step back graphically.

Need more information. I don't know why but my first thought went to Fear Effect. I have the first one but not the second. It was horror and sci-fi.

Nah it's not that.
It's a third person game, er, cover has a kind of red colour, and it's just a guys face, I think he's maybe holding a gun and covering his eyes?

I remember a game similar to that and it was called Fade to Black or Fade Away or something along that line.

Oh no. Definitely NOT Fade to Black.

I know this, because that game holds a special place on my shit-list.
It was a sequel to one of my favourite games of all time, which was Delphines "Flashback - The Quest for Identity".
For those who haven't played THAT, I'd strongly recommend they do, as well as their other kind've similar title "Another World".

Fade to Black, however...was a horrible early PS1 attempt to continue the story, but "IN 3D" along with ridiculous camera angles, sluggish movement, annoying level of difficulty, and really bad sound.
It was really just an unplayable, shitty mess that made a mockery of the legacy of the original.

So yeah, not that one.

Could it be The Suffering?

Nope.
I liked that though.
Never played the second one.
Very solid third person horror/action right there.

That was a excellent game.

It is.
Second Sight.
I dunno...I googled something. Like Mental hospital, experiment escaped, can control enemies, got the wrong shit every time.

Anyone played?
Are my impressions of this game correct? Worth following up?

I actually own the pc version, but don’t think I ever got around to play the game. Probably never will as I’m a console gamer now.

Yes, I have one of those. Bought it to play sensible soccer on my pc many years ago.

I just don’t find it comfortable to sit in a chair in front a computer for many hours. PlayStation is much more casual.

Never played Second Sight. Flashback is awesome though. I heard that they did a remake recently but it supposedly isn't that good. I might check it out anyway for myself.

Easy.
Move PC/Monitor to your coffee table or some such, in front of the lounge - for the intended time to play through one game in as many sittings as you like.
Use controller.
Done.

To this day it's in my top 10 of all time.
The remake...I think that may have been all the way back in 2013?
It was not bad, but it suffered a bit from the added dialogue I thought, the hero was making wisecracks etc...just took me out of it a bit, and I never bothered. It looked competent though.

Delphine themselves was working on an actual sequel to be on the GBA? Looked like the original, but a bit updated. But they went bankrupt during its production. There's even some playable level portions floating around out there. It's too bad. I'd much rather have played something along these lines.

No fuck that, sounds like hard work.

I’d be glad to send you the game if you like to try it out. Just pm me your adress and I’ll send it when I got the time.

The remake came out that long ago? I thought it was more recent. I guess I am behind on everything. I swear I just saw a topic on the Resetera forum about a special edition of the game. I think this is it.

Maybe I got confused and thought it was the same thing.

I think I have two versions of the game. One cartridge and another on CD-ROM. I can't remember the CD system though. I remember the game having a futuristic feel like maybe Total Recall. And being able to pistol whip people was fun. I'll play it again one day.
