I use to be a member here years ago, 2003-2004ish, but I can't remember my username. I was able to find out about a lot of horror movies I never would have watched without this place. I still watch a horror movie from time to time but I honestly havent been crazy about the ones I've saw. The last one I actually liked was a movie called "Honeymoon" from 2014.

Anyway, I need some new movies to watch. What's actually worth watching? I know I'm in the modern movie forum but if you suggest something from the 70/80s I won't be mad.

I think a better place to start would be, what do you like? That way we can make appropriate suggestions.

If you have no preferences, I say Baskin, and Zombie (1979).

I'll look into those movies above I'll come back with a list of favs later

Edit::: baskin actually sounds cool. I see that it's Turkish though?

good question is what type of horror you like or want to see? Whats your past favs? i see what you mean with Honeymoon.

Folks can give ya arthouse, extreme, indie or weird, which might be what you want or leave ya like WTH? Or do you more traditional hollywood horror, cheesy 80s, 70s realism, gorey, scifi-horror?

Prior post covers a lot of styles. Ill rec some more traditionals like Honeymoon: Hush, Vacancy, Dead Silence.

I'm into the slasher movies mostly, zombie and ghost movies if they're done correctly. It's hard for me to get specific on what I've saw because I haven't seen many movies at all in the last ten years. I'll try to list some favorites and some of the popular ones I did not like.

Zombie was decent. Did not like susperia.

April fools day
Happy birthday to me
Pet sematary
The lost boys
28 days later

Loved those. There's a lot of movies I can't remember the names of. I use to have a huge DVD collection but it was all stolen years ago.

I'm really open to anything. I'm off work for a couple months and losing my mind so I'll be looking into all mentioned films.

I watched hush, or started it anyway. I can't remember if I finished but I don't remember thinking it was horrible but don't remember loving it either

I saw a piece of dead silence and it's not my cup of tea.

Never seen vacancy.

Also I rented "split" a week or so ago. I thought it was terrible. Lol

If you want 70/80s horror, I would probably just browse this topic http://www.horror.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31568&page=4074

Some members give reviews on the movie they've seen (like myself), and it's just as much a hit or miss as it is asking for suggestions.

Feast

Also bought "west of Memphis". Not horror but sounded good.

Great picks, When a Stranger Calls (1979) is excellent, wasnt a huge fan of the newer one. The Changeling is a freaking classic, high on my best movies of all time list. I am a documentary freak and West of Memphis is awesome. When you finish it, watch Paradise Lost, its a HBO documentary about the West Memphis Three. There are two sequels to Paradise Lost.

I love a good documentary. I'll probably watch west of Memphis this weekend. I actually bought another documentary as well and completely forgot, "cave of forgotten dreams".

Finished all the movies. All except Feast. The DVD wouldn't play for some reason, should I buy another copy or is it not worth it?

West of Memphis was great btw
