Welcome back to the red-headed simian, as the banished leper V once called him.

back in the day
Good to be back - thanks for the welcome!
Seems like the place is a bit more lively. I remember grumbling about people leaving but then when I kept logging in and finding nothing new, I too found myself drifting away. Still pop back around and when I saw the lights were on, decided to say Hi.
Honestly surprised this is still running since the base site is so DEAD - still promoti g the first INSIDIOUS
And, yes, I really liked TRASH FIRE. It was bizarre and disjointed but really stuck with me - especially the ending.

Glad you and Newb are still keeping the home fires burning. Tell ChronoGirl I miss here next time she pops in.

Oh, hey, I always meant to ask you... tell us about the HDC Battle Royale, of which you were the victor in BRI and BRIV.

Welcome back

Great question. Lots of the old timers participated. They were complex challenges organized by V. They started with players in teams (3 or 4 as I recall). Then a series of challenges - these ranged from obscure trivia, having to post screenshots of specific scenes, word searches, crossword puzzles, etc. All focused on horror. Winning teams got to eliminate players on other teams. There were also games of chance and some of creativity (make up a synopsis for a film - judged by non playing HDCers.
After several rounds (and some reorganizing of teams), it ended up with a small group of survivors who competed in final rounds. Person with most points could eliminate other finalists (sort of like Battle Royals). There were alliances and back door deals and betrayals and carnage . They were great and V put in enormous amounts of plannng into them.
I think those were the golden years of HDC.

That sounds like fun! Maybe you could host something like that for us?
