What movies do you start off the Halloween season with.
I like to begin with films a little less seasonal in tone and work up toward my Halloween marathon just before the holiday.
This year starting off with some newer films.
Unfriended
Gallows
Blair Witch
The Boy
Purge I and II
Krampus
Ouija
Visit
The Forest
Oculus
Stephen King's better films (Pet Sematary, Cujo, Dreamcatcher....and, especially terrifying this year, IT)
Thinking I should have an politics-themed night given the election. What is the best horror film involving American politics? I came up with They Live but seems a little subtle.
Have a great Halloween season. ::cool:: ::danger::

Love seeing this kind of topic, because it means it's THAT time of year!
I approach my Hallowday viewing the same way, MM. It's not until about two weeks before All Hallows' Eve that I dig into the deeper seasonal stuff.
Right now, I'm eyeing some old 50's era monster flicks. The Blob (58), The Deadly Mantis, The Giant Claw, Tarantula...I always gravitate toward this kind of thing as a kickoff to the holiday. As the season goes on, I get more into the bloody, gory, psycho jive we all love so much.
Political horror? Look no further than The Tripper. That's a fun slasher flick!
And how about Blue Sunshine, Jeff Lieberman's bizzare acid flashback freak show?
And a Happy Hallowday to you Michael Myers! I know this season means so, so much to you...and your family. ::devil::

Pumpkinhead definitely. Also The Unnameable.
Agree with The Blair Witch Project.
Begotten on in the background for a Halloween party
The Haunting of Hill House
Halloween(to be watched before October 1st or at most the first week of October.
God Told Me To.
Beyond the Black Rainbow.
The Prince of Darkness.
Halloween for me isn't about gore or jump scares, but atmosphere of the film. More the dread than buildup to jump scare. Monsters allowed, but not focused on them. A few exceptions:
From Beyond
Hellraiser II
Critters
The Puppet Master
