John Carpenter's Vampires or From Dusk Till Dawn...It's a toss up...Why?...Because they don't have the typical Romance crap in them like Anne Rice's and Bram Stoker's do:rolleyes:....Honorable mention to Subspecies, same reason

As vamp movies go, i actually didnt care for Dusk til Dawn. i thought i cheapened the basic idea of a Vampire, it basically made them zombies that drink blood.

My vote goes to lost boys. It's the only movie on earth with both Coreys that is actually good. PLus, Keifer Sutherland is creepier than his dad could ever hope to be.

He was the best part of Phonebooth.

"Do not tell him who you are talking to, or I will kill you.." In that voice... God he is great.

Fright Night.

I agree with the Anne Rice romance crap. Vampires took a really bad hit when she started writing. Aren't they supposed to be bloodsucking ghouls? What's with the weepy-eyed nonsense?

I've always liked Fright Night. It puts the classic Dracula-esque vampire (charming, handsome, reclusice, and evil to the core) in a modern setting ... and has a vigilant horror buff as his nemesis!

Great makeup too. Especially the large-mouthed she-vampire. Creepy.

The start of Vampires:john Carpenter is amazing but then the classical way of vampires storys is back (hero and sidekick hunting vamp)

Of the Fright night i was more fan of the second movie

Dracula, (1973 made for TV version) starring Jack Palance. Coppola's version (1992) takes alot from this movie.

Dracula 1979 is also on of my favorites.
