I suppose this has been done before but cant find where so here goes.
What are your guilty pleasures, the movies that you should`nt like but do,the ones that have no right being on your list but you enjoy them all the same.
I`ll start off with Neon Maniacs.A strange nonsensical weird flic that has no logic behind it and accompanied by some of the worst music ever put on film,(referring to the clash of the bands scene),some rather crumby acting but i love it.I don't know why,i really don't, but i do.
Some come on guys, fess up,what do you like watching even though you know you shouldn't.

Hmm. I guess I watch a lot of movies that I know are bad but they entertain the hell out of me. I understand that most people wouldnt enjoy movies like Satan's Cheerleaders, The Giant Gila Monster and Slithis, but I absolutely love that kind of supercrap! Truth is, I dont feel the least bit guilty about my affection for celluloid poop, but I think my answer is in the proper spirit of your question, Anthro.

Its somewhat known that I'm an 80's girl and I love my 80's cheese, cheese and more cheese. Tammy and the T-Rex (1994) is probably my guilty-est pleasure.

I love chic flicks and give no fuck who knows... Lol. I liked Legally Blond, I liked Pitch Perfect (not the second one, it was terrible.)
I love Musicals. Period.
I was also a Juggalo for a long time and still catch myself listening to ICP from time to time.
That's pretty much all of my dirt, enjoy.

The Wicker Man remake and Catwoman are some of the worst movies ever but I love them. Troll 2 is also a classic.

Just had one come to mind. I'm the worlds biggest Horror High fan. It was originally called Twisted Brain. It's a Jekyll and Hyde slasher thing from about 1974. It's poop but I watch it at least a half dozen times a year.
It's comfort food I can put in my DVD player.

Me too. I can't help but nab vhs tapes when I find them because SB is perfect for eating breakfast or background noise. Well those and paranormal shows but I don't know if any of those ever came out on vhs...

I love the movies Jawbreaker(1999) & But I'm a Cheerleader(1999). I also love Britney Spears forever & always, & agree with everyone else on Spongebob.

It seems like I may be chastised but SpongeBob isn't really a guilty pleasure if everybody loves it... Also, I hate it, so much. I cant even let it happen in the house because it annoys me so much. But alas... I am one of few...

I found an N*SYNC CD at Salvation Army like a week ago when I stopped in, and it was the ONE CD I grew up on and just loved to bits. But it was just the case, and it had a different CD inside. I was so upset, I looked up the album I was hoping to find on YouTube and listened to it on my way to and from work the other day.

I guess SB is a guilty pleasure because you wouldn't expect someone of our age group and interest to watch it. But still your point is valid.

The Giant Claw
Descent premise, two of my favorite actors ( Jeff Morrow & Mara Corday) but terrible, laughable special effects.
I just love to watch this movie.
Get out the popcorn and a giant class of Zero Coke!

I live The Giant Claw and I have a huge crush on Mara Corday. Haha!
Giant Claw is so much fun. It's really solid story telling...and then they show us the creature. Absolutely, horrendously bad!

Love Tori Amos! Had the pleasure of seeing her perform live twice in Baltimore.
She certainly puts her extensive voice and piano playing talents on display live, doesn't she? I remember being surprised at the laser-beam intensity she levels at the audience. It's like she's often watching you more than you're watching her. Always impressed by her Live at Montreux 1991 solo live performance.
I think Little Earthquakes, Under the Pink, Scarett's Walk & The Beekepper are stand out albums. What's a few of your favorite Amos songs?

Not seen the Giant Claw, looks terrifying.::big grin::
Another one of mine is The Incredible Melting Man,though this one isnt a bad movie,in fact it boasted at the time some ground breaking effects, some of the acting is shite though, the main two being the nurse at the beginning and the general.
The kids playing are also sub par but overall i love this movie, when i first saw it at the cinema it blew me away, now a few decades on it hasn't got that same wow factor but it still holds a special place in my heart.

I really enjoy The Incredible Melting Man. The FX are early Rick Baker, and naturally they are pretty impressive. Brief but welcome appearances from Cheryl " Rainbeaux " Smith, Janus Blythe and Detroit Tiger pitcher Mickey Lolich(???) make this a fun watch. Yeah, as you said Anthro, some of the performances are a bit sub par, but still, it's a nice effort.

No doubt, Sculpt, Tori is a riveting performer. The first time I saw her live I was really surprised at how much she connects to the audience, and its not through lively banter and laughs, though she can handle that stuff as well.
My favorite Tori Amos songs? Many, but my tops would be Marianne and Rattlesnakes. In fact, Rattlesnakes is my favorite LLoyd Cole song too, so I must really adore that tune. I also have a soft spot for Corn Flake Girl, but it's mostly due to it being a song a friend of mine sings spectacularly at Kaoroke.::big grin::

I know, right? There are so many. I didn't expect you to choose those two. Those are fairly obscure to me. I think her songs tend to be appreciated rather personally, more so than other artists.
From the Boys For Pele album I tended to like Caught a Lite Sneeze and Hey Jupiter.
This would be my 10: ::big grin::
Icicle
Pretty Good Year
Precious Things
Happy Phantom
Sorta Fairytale
Cloud On My Tongue
Spacedog
Pancake
Amber Waves
Jackie's Strength
Leather
Past The Mission
Cornflake Girl
Chevalier
03-09-2016, 07:33 PM
- Road House staring Patrick Swayze
- Eddie and the Cruisers (both 1 and 2)
- Titanic
I shall disappear from the site for awhile after mentioning the last one on the list out of shame.

Great list! Pancake is one that I would have in my top ten easily, and the same is true for Happy Phantom and Past The Mission. All this Tori talk is making me long to hear some of her stuff. I guess I know what I'm listening to on my morning commute!!
