The title says it all. I am so sick and tired of horror movies that are full of overused concepts, not to mention remakes. Is there anything you have seen so far that had a great and unique plot? Something that wasn't just a bunch of clichés put together? If so, which movie was it?

Watched a new movie on Netflix recently called 'Chosen'. Pretty decent movie, original for being a possession type movie, had it's own unique take on it.

Probably already seen some of these, but anyway:

-Asmodexia:
different take on the exorcism genre. The Spanish locations are also a nice change.

-Crank:
a hitman's poisoned and has to keep up his adrenaline level or else he dies, while looking for the one who "killed" him.

-God Bless America
Similar to Falling Down but funnier.

-Law Abiding Citizen:
Underrated movie starring Gerald Butler as an excellent anti-hero.
One of those movies you're voting for the bad guy.

-The Mist:
Can't really say what's so original without spoiling anything.

-These Final Hours:
"A young man makes his way to the party-to-end-all-parties on the last day on Earth, but stuff happens."

-The Deadlands:
Maori warriors. Reminded me of Apocalypto. Beautiful locations, nice story, cool action.

-The Trollhunter:
One of the best found footage movies around. Beautiful nature, cool creatures, decent special effects.

-World's Greatest Dad
When his son's body is found in a humiliating accident, a lonely high school teacher inadvertently attracts an overwhelming amount of community and media attention after covering up the truth with a phony suicide note.

The ones below are of the less serious kind. It's a selection from the unofficial list of funny/entertaining horror movies. The plot or concept's not always that original. But I all think they have some kind of refreshing element or fun twist.

-Bad Milo
-Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon
-Black Sheep
-Blood Car
-Botched
-DeadHeads
-Evil Aliens
-Fido
-Frankenhooker
-Fresh Meat
-Juan Of The Dead (Juan De Los Muertos)
-Rapture-Palooza
-Rare Exports
-Sightseers
-Teeth
-The Green Butchers (De Grønne Slagtere)
-The Revenant (2009)
-The Voices
-This Is The End
-Tucker & Dale VS Evil
-What We Do In The Shadows
-Wolfcop

There are probably more but these are all I can think of right now. If anything else comes to mind, I'll post them later.
