I think on the Daryl thing...Negan is more likely to kill him.
The person that he *did* kill in the comic is a bit more of an iconic character than the show has really put across.
I think for the show, the only way to get said shock value, would be to off Daryl.

The problem with that is that he is such a popular character that I don't know if it is possible to off him without causing a drop in viewership.

It would be parallel/equivalent to a "groundbreaking" death in the comic via the same means that in no way dipped the readership.
The franchise is known for killingoff favourites across both mediums.
