A Serbian Film: The Most Disgusting Film In The World?

I've seen A Serbian Film before:

And was completely shocked and disgusted inside at times - that's when you know you've found a good horror flick. Tons of people don't appreciate it's approach to incest and porn - and honestly, I've hardly seen a film as horrifying as this.

Regardless, what are your thoughts on A Serbian Film?

The lead actor did a terrific job.

I'm quite surprised we haven't seen another full length movie from the director since. Maybe he's been blacklisted.

Visually, it's not the most disgusting movie, but thematically, it's really hard to stomach. I personally thought it was a well-made movie. I just don't want to watch it again.

As much as I think this movie is a very worthwhile watch if you have the stomach for it, hot is not how I would describe it.

I disagree with the quote personally...it's just written by someone that chose to ignore any merit (and there was some) by not looking past their views on some of the content.
It was a very effective, tragic, atmospheric, horrible and at the same time horrifying film...all done very well on what must have been a fairly minimal budget.

Yes there's some really disgusting subject matter and truly inhuman acts introduced, though the imagery itself is mostly implied.

Overall without looking at the supposed commentary the film was trying to make, overall it made me feel from uncomfortable, to disgusted, to elated when seeing the victim get his bloody revenge, to devastated and empty...and left with some things that will stay with me.

Personally, I think despite what I think of the content, if a movie, horror or otherwise can effect one so, it has done its job well.

I might never want to see it again, but I would encourage others to take a look.

I've watched it, in its entirety, once. I thought it was trying too hard to be shocking and in your face. But yeah it's not the sort of flick to watch with your parents or kids.

I've seen all types of movies and I'm able to stomach pretty much anything. With that being said, I WILL NEVER WATCH THIS MOVIE AGAIN and I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET CERTAIN IMAGES OUT OF MY HEAD. Enough said......

Hey it bothered me. I had this film in my mind for days. As I watched certain scenes I said this is so wrong. I like being bothered. I like the feeling I get...it turns into excitement, almost euphoric pleasure.

Now that being stated,

of course child pornography is a horrible crime. I would never want any child in anyway to be hurt. THIS IS ONLY A FILM. The baby is a movie prop to play out the scene, and an amazing scene it was at that.


People say it's political.. Fuck politics. I don't see it or never will. I like being entertained by extreme film. I look at this as story being told with players. Nothing more. The world is so fucked from end to end that when I disappear into a movie, I want to forget that and live in cinema on my screen. Not responsible behavior?, sure. Not adult enough?..fuck yeah. I will always be like this. I own this film...... My 2 cents..::love::
