So I just read about Sony's Playstation TV, I wonder is there a definitive list of streaming devices to make sure you have maximum access to content.
These are the ones I have found:
Top Devices:
Roku
Apple TV
Google TV
Boxee
Best of the Rest:
WDTV
Asus O!Play
Netgear NEOTV
Simple.TV
Vizio Co-Star
LG Smart TV Upgrader
Samsung Smart Hub
Playstation
XBox
Wii
NBlox Player
D-Link Movie Night
SlingPlayer
Sony SMP
TIVO Stream
Which of these are the best?
Also I found out about MAG-250 boxes which are used to stream international TV out side of their broadcast territories.

Game systems are too clunky for streaming, and Playstation TV is ridiculously expensive for 85 channels. Not to mention you need to be running around 75 mb just to stream through it smoothly. I have three Roku players on my nice TV's, my Samsung 4k is smart so it has everything built in, and I use Chrome Cast on my projector. The Chrome Cast is cool, you don't use a remote, it uses an app from a phone or tablet to control everything. Roku is one of the few that can really handle 4k streaming if that's what your looking for. Apple TV is really only useful if you use apple products through the rest of the house. Everything has its benefits, but I have found Roku to be the most user friendly and have the most options.

I ould say the biggest benefit to Roku is that there are thousands of "unofficial" channels that you can add to it through your computer. It can cover literally anything. But if your looking for porn, there is no way to hide it, so the kiddies would have access too.
Me and the wife had to hard line to our computer to keep the fun stuff from the kids.

I mostly use Roku and Samsung Smart TV. Almost all connected/smart devices have Netflix and YouTube, but those two also have Amazon Streaming. Sometimes I'll use Chromecast, but mostly just for casting from my phone, and sometimes for YouTube if I've browsed to a video from my phone. On occasion I use Apple TV because HB0 N0W is on 5.1 surround, whereas on Roku it's only in stereo (although soon it will be in surround sound too).
If I were recommending a device, it would be Roku. A lot of the apps are not as fancy as, say XBox or PlayStation apps (although that's going to change soon), but it's reliable, affordable, and has the widest selection. I wouldn't buy a stick though -- the WiFi is flaky. Get a Roku 2 or 3 2015 version (or pre-order a 4 (https://www.roku.com/products/roku-4)).
