Name says it all. Name what you think are the scariest moments in horror fiction. No subgenre is off limits, haunted houses, vampires, werewolves, cosmic horror, human horror, doesn't matter, as long it's scary.

Here are my choices:

Danny in the Snow Tunnel from The Shining

The Closing Moments of The Light is the Darkness

The Soldier's Attack from Summer of Night

Jud Crandall's Story from Pet Semetary

The Lights Go Out from The Haunter of the Dark

The Last Voyage of The Demeter from Dracula

When Kirsty is being stalked toward the end of The Hellbound Heart, right before the Cenobites step in to take back Frank.

There was a short story in Stephen Kings book Full Dark No Stars called 1922. That whole story was freaky.

Im reading a good Zombie novel right now called The Dead Sea Games by a little author, I honestly don't remember his name. But so far its one of the better Zombie books I have read. There is a pretty intense scene where a teen is hanging from a rope off the side of a building after just saving a kid from his mother who just turned. And they think they are temporarily safe. Then the zombies start hurling themselves off of the side of the building and they are dodging back and forth on the rope. Solid zombie material.
