The Butterfly Room ~ 2012

I liked a lot of things about this movie, but I was especially pleased to see so many of our favorite veteran actresses on screen. As our horror faves age, it becomes increasingly hard for a lot of the best female talent to get work. I think this is fu**ing ridiculous and The Butterfly Room is a refreshing exception. Along with the film's star, Barbara Steele, the cast includes Camille Keaton, Heather Langenkemp, P.J. Soles and a few others. True, some of the roles are brief cameos, but the whole film felt like a little valentine to some of genre's most likable and talented ladies.

For fans of Ms. Steele, the movie is a must see. What a wonderfully energetic, wicked and surprisingly physical (is she SERIOUSLY 77 years old??!) performance! The ending did take a little bit of a suspension of disbelief, but by then I was all in and was ready for anything.

It's a cheapy and it's not perfect, but as a fan of Steele and so many of the featured actresses, I recommend it to any fan who is of a like mind.
