Haven't watched/listened yet, but here's a link to an animated Poe story as well as two audio recordings. 1953, and 1958 respectively.

I love all the Poe films with Vincent Ptice.
I have two recordings of Poe readings by the late actor Basil Rathbone.
Poe is my kind of thing.::wink::

Cool stuff. The animated short with mason is pretty slick. A little too abbreviated on the ending heart-beating though.

Absolutely adore Basil Rathbone! ::love::

In the sixties, there were a whole lot of Edgar Allen Poe movies made by Roger corman and starring Vincent Price. They were so popular that sometimes filmmakers would give a movie a Poe title to make people think it was from Poe when it wasn't. Like The Haunted Palace, which is actually from Lovecraft's "The case of Charles Dexter Ward." And I think when they showed Witchfinder General in this country, they retitled it The Conqueror Worm.

Poe was exceptionally canny and accomplished, enabling him to utilize an assortment of people groups, spots, times, and feelings to attract from his stories. Most people just remember him as a ghastliness essayist, which he positively was, however, he was a whole lot more than that.

I remember an Edgar Allen Poe story about a horse and a painting; Hollywood should adapt that story

Was that where the horse painted pictures of gorillas, with lot's of rouge, with it's horsehair tail?
