Oasis Of The Zombies. Absolutely the worst movie I've ever sat through. Boring as all hell. It's only a little over an hour long, but it felt like a four hour movie! (And like dorks we sat and watched the whole thing and didn't fast forward once) Lemme put it this way, Andy Warhol once made a movie called Sleep where he filmed a man sleeping for eight hours in one long uninterupted take. Oasis Of The Zombies is the closest thing I've ever seen to duplicating that effect, and it does it in 67 minutes! There's probably a worse movie, but I have no desire to see it.
Note: I've been told that the version that is currently out on DVD is different from the one I saw. Guess they can't release that version because of its unfortunate side effect of putting viewers into a comatose state. I'll get off my soapbox now.

maybe it's not so much that 28 days later sucked. it just didn't live up to the hype. everyone kept saying it's so scary. Decent movie-not really scary. Same thing with the ring.

thEsounDofdirT
06-12-2004, 07:19 PM
i personally believe that 28 days later and the ring rely on quality home theatre systems... they need to be very dynamic.. and quite loud.. that's where a lot of the scares come from

i liked 28 days later too. I remember when i was walkin into the movie theatre to go see it, i was looking at the movie poster for it, and these 2 hefty ladies walked by, and told me not to watch it because it was so bad. But i enjoyed that and the ring very much. Also one of the most influential movies using sound scare tactics was TCM with the chainsaw against the metal. Still that noise scares the shit outa me!

TCM was a superb movie in the use of sound production scare tactics... also, a very very wonderful film score
