Ooookay. Lets here your favourite horror movies from say the past ten years that have being universally panned, loathed or hated by critics and the ilk. I'm being mean and not allowing all your eighties faves
volcano zombies
human centipede 3 (1% on metacritic, i love it!)
jersey shore massacre
avaalanche sharks
sharknado
zombeavers
snakes on a plane (don't know how anyone can not like this)
heres a link for an upcomer for friends of the uttterly plausible
http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3977848/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3977848/)
Must also speak up for an entire list of syfy movies, they are always hated straight off the bat by many, and though the reasons may be fair, i feel it is doing a great diservice to films that can be terrific fun if taken in the correct context, besides which some of them really aren't all that bad compared to some higher budgeted and rated films i've seen
rant over, yours please

73 on RT and 6.5 on IMDb is hardly a "hated movie".

I dunno, people without taste liking a film is the same thing. ;)

This would be easier if I knew what movies people like and don't like. I know some movies that are super popular are the obvious for most liked, but not the opposite...
I did read an article yesterday that said something about the 10 top Hollywood flops and on the list was Cutthroat Island. ...Can't figure out why. I like that movie.
One of my favorite movies is 'The Breed'. With vampires. Not the dogs. Nobody knows of it and those who do don't like it. Does that count as a 'good bad good movie'?

i love 'the breed', the dog one not the vampire one. I think most are just indifferent to it though rather than loving or hating it. I don't know why these movies are called 'shite' i don't think you can really take a snobbish attitude to them just because you dislike the effects or the acting. An example is 'the rats' 2002, recently viewed this and really enjoyed it. Nice story okay acting and some cool effects (plus the thought of deadly rats is something we can all relate to) yet it only gets 5 on imdb is this fair, no. Yes there's many flaws in these movies but so there is in all movies. i do get annoyed by some of the snobbishness from horror fans, especially if you take the wider outlook that all horrors are ridiculous by the sheer nature of them.
Naturally, these sort of films are not necessarily ggod simply becuase of this fact, however i do think this section of them get an unecessarily hard time at times

I'm surprised no one said Troll 2. That's the quintessential good bad flick!
I also really enjoyed The Purge, Annabelle, and Devil. Despite the fact that they're all very generic or lazy, I thought they were all really entertaining. I have all three on Blu Ray too.

Isn't the Purge well liked enough though? It does have a sequel after all. Although Nostalgia Critic and a few facebook friends didn't care for it... I loved it though. I need to see the sequel.
Saw Annabelle in theaters. Didn't really care for it, but it was fun to go see with my sister and a few friends. The one especially was really freaked out by it. XD

From what I've seen, a lot of people don't like it since it was a home invasion thriller that didn't really focus enough on the compelling themes of the premise.

troll 2 is an odd one for me. It pushes its badness slightly tooo far for my liking. As i have said not all 'bad' films are 'good' some are just rubbish or simply don't appeal. The purge is too popular and to liked to really to fall into this category. Thought it was okay, although i don't tend to be that mad keeen on home invasion thrillers, as tension can be easily lost by rudimentary errors.

It's not that the trolls in Trolls 2 are horrible made, the story is just so incredibly bad that it's hard to enjoy. I sure didn't.

Yet so many people like it because of how awful it is. This is the only site where I've seen anyone like Human Centipede.

I enjoyed the horribleness of Troll 2 but I don't have it on my rewatch list. I also like Human Centipede quite a bit.
I personally love any film discussion that would mention Troll 2 and HC in the same sentence, so I'm really enjoying reading over this thread.::smile::

lol! i agree v much repo'd::smile:: I don't know why hc has so many haters. It is a scary, disturbing concept, albeit a daft one. I agree the acting and story aren't the worlds greatest, but overall it isn't that much more flawed compared to many more more popular movies. Like i said all horrors are ridiculous as a concept, and even the most popular ones have giant plot holes and stupid logic at their heart. Also even the problems that most people have with it aren't really that 'standout' bad, again compared to other similar horrors

Thing about HC, is it's disturbing. Very disturbing. In a horrific abomination to man sense, and that's why I'm not shocked this site gives it such a thumbs up. Most people who can't stomach this abomination created in the movie or don't like the movie for whatever else reason is understandable as well. ...I'm also one of those people who can't stomach it, but I have no disrespect towards people who do like it. Personally though I was really hoping the creature would look like it did on the cover than the butt to face result we were given. ...That might have also been a negative factor towards the movie that the audience majority didn't care for as well.

interesting reply roif. It is disturbing and i guess that's partly the appeal. however, i don't think it's anymore disturbing than say men behind the sun, or i spit on your grave. Both have things disturbing in them if you consider the viewing of something as serious as rape disturbing, or torture based on real life suffering. Things that are much more likely to actually occur and happen in real life more than hc. That's really partly my point, the two things abovce don't get half as much hate as hc, in fact 'i spit' in particular is much beloved by many

Comments about Human Centipede with spoilers.
What I never see people talk about in regards to Human Centipede was the acting. For the actors they're in a ridiculous situation. They're connected to the person in front of them via prosthetics. They can't talk. They have to look to be in incredible distress and madness constantly over and over for different camera angles. They have to move about in unison, up stairs while not trying to break the prosthetics. All the while they do a great job of all of it. The mad scientist wasn't nearly as good as these actors comprising the centipede.

The only thing I liked about the first HC was Dieter Laser. I thought he was actually pretty funny and not so over-the-top that he was annoying. Other than him, I was mostly disappointed because there really wasn't anything as "shocking" as promised. The second one was atrocious in every aspect. It wasn't even disturbing; it was basically a trashy slasher movie. I never bothered with the third one.

Very interesting take on the movie and you're right. I can't imagine what it was like to be put into those uncomfortable positions. I think I got into the movie because it was something completely new and different. I didn't find it shocking in comparison to Salo or Men Behind the Sun, those were in a whole different category imo.

Thanks. I've considered watching 'I Spit', but I believe there's rape in it which makes me hesitant... And true stories in general make me second think a watch too. Paranormal type true stories don't bother me, anything else however for some reason just unnerves me a touch.

I'm with you on that, except I differ in that we need to reminds ourselves of real depravity once in a while. Too easy to forget about how much rape goes on, or racism, or child abuse, etc. etc.
