You, my fellow HDC members are avid film viewers and analysts. Let's tap some'a dat!
What current actors are the modern replacements TYPES for these huge actors of the past?
(Now before anyone says the oh so predictable, demonstrative "you can never replace a ____!"... Yes, we all already know that, save the bandwidth & forum bytes ::roll eyes::... I'm asking about general types of actors.)
Feel free to pick one actor at a time.
1. Clark Gable

I also thought of Jackman having a bit of Gable. Stiller does his own stye of comic energy and neurosis. IMO Gosling doesn't have the deep experienced voice & presence of Bogart, but has potential. Mulligan I dont know well (guess you like Drive?), but she seems much more a Julie Andrews type than the "shrewd genius badger below" of Bettie Davis.

Huge does dance, sing and act. Is there any clip of Hugh dancing that compares to Astaire's dancing? I think Clooney is probably the best comparison actor to Gable that I can think of. Good one!

I know Jackman was on Broadway in a play about a well-known singer/dancer whose name I'm drawing a complete blank on right now......Peter something-or-other. He won a Tony award for it. Let me go hit up Google and I'll come back with answers. ::stick out tongue::
Edit: Peter Allen, the play was "The Boy From Oz".

Weirdly enough, I've never seen Drive but know they both star in it. I did think of Emma Stone for Betty but think it was based more on looks.
I'm now leaning toward's hammer's answer for Hugh Jackman.

Who are these people?
LOL!
If you don't know, you're actually in luck, because you get to experience these great personalities for the first time.
Gone with the Wind is an enjoyable film. I remember I was 13ish when I saw my mom starting to watch it. I didn't think I'd like it, as it looked like a women's film, but surprised the heck out of me.
There's some good films today, but most are trash. You should check out the best films of these actors, you won't be disappointed.
You've never seen this famous movie scene?

Thank you for that, Sculpt! I've always adored Fred Astaire!
