Another new person

Hi all!

I'm a fairly recent horror fan; it's only been the past few years that I moved from being creeped out and moralizing everything to just enjoying a good, scary movie/book/tv show.

And the basics: I'm a grad student, I'm owned by a cat, I write some fiction, I knit and make other things for fun -- usually while watching a horror movie -- and tend to go for horror that deals with apocalypses (apocalypsi?) and how people react to shit. More plot and character for me, though I do love a good terrible really-low-budget movie on occasion (they're funny, if nothing else).

Hey there! I was once owned by a cat, but have sense been liberated and I bask in owning my very own dog. She is 175 pounds of beast. Im a low budget gore fanatic. My movies don't have to have any depth as long as something gets squished or cut apart. Its very nice to meet you and have you on the board.

I just finished my final papers for the semester last week (yay, grad school; 50 pages split between three papers, all due over the course of a week) and have an entire week off before summer term begins. So I'm getting caught up on horror movies. Especially since my roommate is going out of town and he hates horror movies -- I make sure to watch them on the actual TV when he's not home. The cats don't care, they've only really disliked the Grudge + Grudge 2 (with the angry cat).
