If you like psychological/supernatural thrillers, check out The Canal, which is on Netflix streaming right now. The director, Ivan Kavanagh, does dark very well I think. Seeing Canal makes me want to check out his other stuff. :-)

Didn't like the artsy fartsyness.

Loved this movie..::love::

The public bathroom scene is one of the creepiest put on film.

Yes! I had to look away during the worst of it ... and that doesn't happen often.

I really enjoyed the Canal. It was slow and creepy. Seemed to capture the best elements of psychological thriller and haunted house.

It did not look good, but ok I'll add it to my long list.

It's a good one. One of my favorites from last year.

Adding it to my watch list. 8)
Will probably check it out after I finish my current movie if it's not too late.

We need a topic for Netflix recommendations. I've watched several I'd like to talk about with people. 8P

Ah ha that would be a good idea now wouldn't it.
After doing so I found one with a little digging, thanks. Though reviving it kinda makes individual topics like this one a bit obsolete doesn't it?

No, I like individual topics. Makes it easier to find when searching. ::wink::

Having watched the Canal, here's my two cents worth. I can say even though the build up in suspense was very good, I came out feeling underwhelmed. The scares could've been better. And I'm kinda thrown by the ending. They take all the psychological aspect of it out by adding the bit where the kid heard his dad in the wall and after... I think I would've liked it more had it stopped before that.
