I just got netflix, it's been available (in an albeit somewhat watered down version) in my country for a couple of weeks now.
I remember hearing about this coming out but very little else - now I've noticed it's coming out in just over a week, checked out a trailer...and yeah...I mean doesn't look like is has a mega budget, but *does* look as though it's a little closer to the roots of the comic.
I like that, I can watch a whole NF series as soon as it comes out.
Anyone planning on looking in on this one?
Thoughts?
I will be checking this out when it's released on Friday. I just finished one of Netflix's newest series, Bloodline, which was pretty damn good. Hopefully they get the source material correct on this one.

Not a big fan of superheroes but I read it's gonna be dark and violent so I'm gonna give it a chance.
Also heard the guy wants to make heavy R-Rated Punisher series.
Might depend on the succes of Daredevil.

Started watching today.
I'm at episode 3 or 4. So far, so good.
Acting and casting is ok to good, fighting scenes are decent and well choreographed, some blood (does an open leg fracture counts as gore?), nice pace, not too slow or too fast, not boring,...
If The Punisher series gets the green light and it'll be a similar but R-Rated version of Daredevil, things could be pretty sweet.

Loving it so far.
They nail it SO much more than the movie (which I didn't hate) did.
I also appreciate that the kingpin isn't his "pompous" persona of the 90's spider-man cartoon...and that he seems to be more of a multi layered character.
The guy that plays Murdoch is doing fine, Elden Hensen *really* does well as Foggy Nelson. The chick from True Blood as Karen Page...nah...but she's ok.
Though yeah, it's dark, gritty, it's really handling the early vigilante exploits of the character and the manipulation of the underworld/powerplay by Fisk very VERY well.
Fights and stunt coreography are somewhat better than I'd expected.
I too have heard of the upcoming Punisher series, if this is anything to go by, I'll look out for it with great interest.

Done with first season. Overal way better than I expected.
Only the final costume will take some time to get used to.

I'm really not digging it at all...kinda feels like I'm all alone there though.
4 episodes in so far, and the writing is just distractingly, laughably bad. Charlie Cox is perfect though, and obviously the fight choreo is pretty unreal...shame about everything else.
Daredevil has always been one of my favourite comics though, particularly Ed Brubaker's run...I'm also a big ol' MCU fanboy, and most of Netflix's original content so far has been killer...so I admit I had inflated expectations going in. Hasn't hooked me yet, but I just want to like it so badly that I'll give it another episode or two before I give up outright.

I've been loving it. The characters are all great. The only thing i'm not liking is their portrayal of Kingpin as a giant sad sack. Other then that though, the show is really good.

See, the Kingpin is what he becomes...he has a ways to go yet. I imagine with an increase in power/territory and murdering a bunch of people to facilitate that, getting away with things legally (which he will), will come the more cocky, arrogant attitude that the KINGPIN is known for having.

In short, "Daredevil" is the show "Gotham" should have been but sadly (and very irritatingly) wasn't. It has nuance, intelligence, suspense, and some really nice action sequences (all done practically, which I love)-- which are all things that "Gotham" lacked. The show is really great, though Daredevil's costume in the end left a bit to be desired, but the creators themselves have admitted that its creation was rushed and that they'll be re-vamping it and improving it some for the next season. Can't wait!

I read the costume looks a little flashy so it would fit in with The Avengers, because he's getting a part in the third movie.

Jon Bernthal (Shane from The Walking Dead) will play The Punisher in season 2.

Just finished binge watching this series over the weekend. It's honestly better than any superhero TV show has a right to be. It's just damn good television. So much of which looks like a comic page come to life. The fight choreography is insane. They really nailed the action throughout. The direction is superb and there was some really inventive camera work and editing during some of the fight scenes. The casting is excellent and there are some fantastic performances. Vincent D'Onofrio steals every scene he's in and he is completely transformed as Wilson Fisk on screen. The costume reveal and final fight scene were epic. I really can not wait to watch season 2!

Only a month until the next season, featuring The Punisher!
And with the succes of Deadpool we might get more R-Rated superhero action.

I couldn't help but compare Daredevil with Gotham as I was watching it too. Disappointing that Gotham didn't get as exciting as I had hoped, but when your favorite character is only a child and not really doing anything involving fighting crime yet, it makes for a slow pace. Daredevil thankfully got off the ground without starting at the beginning of the beginning so that there was a lot of action. But yet he was new enough on the superhero scene that there was still fantastic character build up as we're watching him grow from his experiences.

Just finished season one, and am taking a breather before starting on 2. I am just in love. And so damn excited with Punisher coming in. I hope he's better in this than the movie, but from what I've heard online so far we won't be disappointed.

Finished season 2 yesterday.
Good/great as usual. The Punisher wasn't perfect but pretty awesome.
I hope he gets his own series. I rather see The Punisher starring Daredevil than the other way around.

I loved the first season of Daredevil but I think season 2 was even better.
I actually did a video review of it:
