Anyone else excited for the MTV Scream series?

"What starts as a YouTube video going viral, soon leads to problems for the teenagers of Lakewood and serves as the catalyst for a murder that opens up a window to the town's troubled past."

I know that it's MTV and I shouldn't get my hopes up too much. But just the fact that we will be getting some kind of tribute towards the series is enough for me.

Too bad Kevin Williamson couldn't get his way and have a new trilogy.

Here's the IMDB link for anyone who didn't know about the project.

I think the Scream franchise speaks to a new age interest in 'normalized eccentricity,' which we see in various programs but especially in Friends (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friends) and Two and a Half Men (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_and_a_Half_Men) (maybe that's why there are casting-crossovers.

The success of a concept-series such as 'Scream-TV' would depend on the audience's interest in junk-food marketing.

Maybe Friends should have had a guest-appearance by Stephen King!
