So the idea is to make a top 1 best/worst of 2014 and the categories can be whatever. For example: Best movie, Best actress, Best album, Best song etc.

So far i got:

Best movie
Best Horror movie
Best actor
Best actress
Best album
Best song
Worst song
Best event
The biggest highlight of yours
Best HDC Thread

It would be nice if you guys could come up with a lot more so we could have ourselves a big ass top 1 of 2014 for tomorrow and the following days. :)

Thanks!

I'm not asking for your top 1s in this thread. I'm asking for ideas for more categories.

Reminding me of HDC Awards, nevertheless great idea indeed.

My suggestions...

Best Horror movie Director or Promising New Director

Best New Member on HDC

Best Horror Movie Recommender

Most Disappointing/worst movie of the year (horror-non horror, considering all)

Best Story for a Horror Movie

Best Horror Adaptation

and last but not the least...

HDC Tournament of the Year::big grin::

It's actually not the same as there won't be any votings. When i have enough different categories i'll post them in another thread. The idea is that people then copy/paste all the categories and post their choices for their personal top 1s.

Thank you for your contribution, Roshiq. That's some good categories. If you come up with more please keep em coming. Remember, it can be about whatever.

If you wanted to add a little personal touch, you could add "Best personal experience of 2014."

That was what i meant with "Biggest highlight of yours". But I'll give you that "Best personal experience" sounds better. Sold!

If you can come up with more personal categories please add them on. ::smile::

Actually it has been a pretty good year for FF films, IMO. My favorite 5 are:

1) What We Do in the Shadows
2) Devil's Pass
3) The Den
4) As Above, So Below
5) The Taking of Deborah Logan

But I don't think any particular sub-genre of horror will be needed as a category for Best of 2014.

I would say As Above, So Below is my favorite with The Den shortly after, then The Sacrament. The Taking of Deborah Logan was pretty disappointing to me.

Why not? Lets add all kinds of shit to the 2014 top 1. The more categories the merrier. :)

Agree!

Also, maybe to take into account all the series' that aren't new, have a "Best current horror TV series," and we can include Masters of Horror: Freak Show, Hannibal (season 2), Grimm (season 4), etc., and also new series' like Constantine and Salem.

So whatever happened with this, Angra? It was a good idea.

While we're at it, since others did it in this thread, I'll post my top found footage/mockumentary films of 2014.

What We Do in the Shadows
The Den
The Possession of Michael King
The Taking of Deborah Logan
The Sacrament
Exists
Willow Creek
The Borderlands
Wer
Afflicted
Banshee Chapter
Alien Abduction
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones
Mr. Jones
V/H/S: Viral

I have to say though, the Spinal Tap-like comedy mockumentary style of #1, WWDitS, is a heck of a lot different than the found footage style of all the rest. So maybe The Den should be #1. It's sorta like calling The Office a found footage TV show.
