I'm in the mood for a good epidemic movie, but I can't find anything I haven't seen a bunch of times. Who better to ask than the experts? ;) I really want to watch something non-zombie and 1990's or later. Maybe something "creature" related or similar to:

-Slither
-Splinter
-The Thing
-The Thaw

Disease outbreak movies would be good too :) Just no zombie movies this time (I'm a little burnt out on them at the moment).

Thanks so much!!! Can't wait to see some recommendations!

EDIT: Outbreak origin stories are the best ;)

Contagion and The Crazies are the first ones that come to mind.

Caught this article... looks like just what you asked for 22 Best (Non-Zombie) Epidemic Infection Horror Movies (http://horror.about.com/od/horrortoppicklists/tp/bestinfectionmovies.htm). Looks like it's missing the "#1" in the list.

I can't recommend any of those however. I don't remember seeing any top notch epidemic films post 1990, except for 12 Monkeys. But if you've never seen The Andromeda Syndrome, I recommend that. It's from 1969, but it's top budget quality film with no zombies, no matter how you define zombies.

-The Happening
I think I might be one of the few who likes this movie.

-The Strain
Tv series not a movie but it's great.

Probably not what you are looking for but watch The Ebola Syndrome anyway.

Thank you for all of the suggestions :)

They were excellent suggestions, but I've seen Contagion, The Crazies, Vanishing on 7th Street and The Happening. All great movies. Baron Von Marlon, I actually really like The Happening as well. I've seen it several times.

I'm watching a series called Helix now. It's ok. Border line zombie, but different enough that it has my interest. I'll try out some of the other suggestions as well.

Thanks again!
